Great location. In the bush but around 10 minutes drive to Lorne where there are shops (1 supermarket) and places to eat. The cottage was well equipped and comfortable. We needed both the heating and the air conditioning during our stay and both worked well. Nice and quiet apart from the Cockatoos getting a bit vocal sometimes. But this is the charm of the place. The Cockatoos come visiting hoping for a meal and whilst it would be unwise to hand feed them some of the smaller parrots will happily sit on your arm and eat from your hand. I saw a mob of Kangaroos including a mum with Joey in pouch when I was out for a run (a short 800m circuit with a short but savage hill - great for hilly intervals) and plenty of bird species. I had a go at fishing for crayfish in the dam and netted 20 in 10 minutes - should keep kids young and old busy for a while. The owner popped around for a short and informative chat which was helpful, but otherwise no one bothered us for the 3 nights we stayed there. I loved it there and would happily have stayed longer.

A lovely place to stay! We arrived late and the cottage was warm and inviting. Plenty of room for kids (our 4 plus a friend).

Appalling and extremely poor service and rude!!!
Have stayed here a couple of times,
Once 3 months ago and then again 3 weeks ago.
Initially, a wonderful stay, the second visit in a different cabin, less than desirable!
After a terrible few Months, i decided to go back to the place I thought offered what I needed and had experienced earlier.
This time, I was allocated the cabin I asked for but was suddenly, switched to another cabin, without asking or notifying me.
She had given the cabin I paid for to another couple.!
After arriving, i ran a bath and to my astonishment, there was zero hot water, i called Carol and she said 'she would fix it, they had ran it earlier and should have been fine'.
She came down and flicked the switch to 'peak' and told me 'to give it half an hour and it would be hot' and left to go back to her little gathering.
I waited an hour and nope, no hot water, i left a message and no response as there was no answer.
That night my daughter woke me screaming telling me there were cock roaches in the bunks they were sleeping in and we're climbing on them.
This was 2 in the morning and thought I should call and tell Carol, they had cock roaches but I left it till the morning due to her having some kind of get together, where she told me 'i am glad you did not call me at that hour' and said ' cock roaches, That's disgusting and she could come and vacuum and change the sheets'..' I'm sorry, what? Vacuum, no I can vacuum' lol, I said.

Prior to leaving, i left a note telling the owners about our experience and how disappointed we were
All i can say here is
APPALLING SERVICE, DISGUSTING AND A JOKE!
NOT even an apology or part refund for the awful experience my family had here and for more than $500 for 2 nights with no hot water and cock roaches, I'd rather sleep in a tent than pay this greedy woman any of my Money!
Place needs a fumigation NOT a vacuum and a Decent hot water system for a bath that size! Perhaps new owners are required!

Simply stay elsewhere. With so much splendour and many beautiful cabins in the area, i am sure your Money and time will be better spent elsewhere.

Stopped here for a couple nights while my husband and I (From Oxfordshire) were exploring the Great Ocean Highway. The cottage was very well equipped and the cleanest accommodation I have ever experienced. Everything was perfect from the warmth of the greeting, to the wildlife surrounding this little part of Australian heaven. Have recommended this location to friends and family and in fact will be buying a break here for some friends of our in Melbourne. Plan on returning one day.

We stood at this place several times and every time it was really fantastic: Carol & Chris, a cottage house, birds, kangaroos, view. I really liked this place and would recommend it to all if you are planing to stay at this area
