Quite possibly THE most Australian bartender I have ever metan absolute legend and definitely my highlight of Lorne. Worth a visit just to have an encounter with him! His extensive knowledge of local wines and beer were an added bonus.

Comfy room, good view, good bed, good heater (winter visit) nice restaurant and bar. Shower operated well. Old building with creaky floors but we considered that part of the character of the place. Good size room but no where to put case other than on bed.
Seating and table in the room not so good as table too low.

Booked last minute based on Google reviews and the Grand Pacific Hotel in Lorne did not disappoint. Huge two bedroom apartment overlooked the water and was a short walk around to the front of the building for the restaurant. Excellent dinner and breakfast menu and the agree that the coffee was delicious. Be prepared to be visited by extremely friendly cockatoos on your balcony and helpful staff at the bar! Will definitely return.

We stayed here for two night in winter. It is a beautiful old building with fantastic views. The staff were all very helpful and welcoming and the food was excellent. The buffet breakfast had good variety and the seafood platter was delicious. We will be staying here again next time we are in Lorne.

Menu not overly broad. Good options on kids menu. They have highchairs and colouring crayons and paper for kids. Staff were friendly. Location is great. Only faults were getting 1 prawn on the surf and turf, which the waitress explained was because its on special on a Monday so you only get 1, if you order it otherwise you get 3 prawns. This wasnt explained before ordering. Chicken parmagiana had a pathetic side salad. When questioned we received a complimentary side salad that was much better and should have been on the plate in the first place. In saying that the food we got was delicious including the 2 curries we ordered. I would go here again.

We tried to stop in Lorne, but it was packed and lashing with rain. We drove out of town, west, and happened upon this hotel. Parking out front, plenty of room in the bar/restaurant and the kitchen was open. The place clearly catered for families. The food was unexceptional, but it was a port in a storm. I wouldn't intentionally seek it out again, but we were very grateful it was there at the time.

The rooms and bathrooms in the hotel are small and extremely noisy. I booked this hotel for a nice quiet getaway. What I got was the total opposite. The hotel is very old the floorboards creak constantly, we had the pleasure of getting woke up by the people above us who sounded like they were going to fall through the ceiling on us. On the Saturday night there was a band playing downstairs out the front of the Hotel it basically sounded like we had a live band playing in our room til midnight. Got no sleep, couldn't find a car park anywhere because they had a wedding on so ended up getting a parking fine in an area that had no signs not to park. Also had the spaghetti linguine at the restaurant and it had sand from the pipi's throughout the dish. I complained to management who did nothing. Really the only reason you would stay here is for a wedding otherwise there are heaps of beautiful, clean and spacious accommodation in the area.
