  Sitting next to the pier on a rather chilly day, I was watching quite a number of people jumping into the sea and swimming in an odd pattern from the Lorne Pier around the rock towards the Lorne town. I discovered later that the pattern is similar to the annual Lorne Pier to Pub Swim which coincidentally happened just a few weekends ago. It is the largest open water swim in the world and organised by the very swimming club I was sitting next to as I watched this scene.

  A very local hangout in Lorne. Great people and a great spot for a beer and a yarn. Also now does takeaway coffee along the path to the pier.
