Went there without much info and perhaps a bit of confusion. Frank was very great and patient, explained me very well and gave me lot of details and honest suggestions regarding cameras, lenses and best quality/price ratio.
Went also for a passport picture which came out greatly and has been shown to me before printing.
Will def spread the word about it 😊
I had an amazing experience with Nadia who offered us excellent customer service. We left the store with exactly what we wanted and it was a quick a pleasant transaction! Will be definitely be going back
We got a print done on the metal panel they offer at the store. It looks mega! And done so quick! Thanks everyone! Awesome store. Will 100% be back.
Have shopped here many times, and have never been disappointed in the service, the range or the prices.
Fantastic print lab on the first floor, with a huge range of products and services, all done in house. Highly recommended.
From an on-going and regular customer of the last few years I have only praise to heap on a great business. The quick turn around of film development inclusive of top results always leaves me a happy customer. Thanks
Excellent service I Asked for a tripod and I got full demonstration very please with service and I got my old disposable cameras developed highly recommend them
Amazing staff who went above and beyond to make my experience great! I got exactly what I wanted plus helpful tips and advice. Thank you so much Camera house!
Very tough to review. 1 star but they try so I gave them 2 stars.
I would give some staff 5 stars and some staff 1 star, but you don't know who you get, so overall = 2 stars.
My experience.
Went to buy a tripod saying budget 150, talked into $300 tripod (which is ok and I set myself up for.)
Also wanted a filter. Found one for $50 (price on it, confirmed by staff). Went to register and charged $100. I ask, and it was mislabelled. So they say they could sell it to me for $80. (equivalent to member's discount)
Not happy but ok, gave them a shot.
The tripod leg collapsed in the field. My camera lens smashed on the ground. $100 filter ruined (which they replaced free.) Lens is $250 to repair (somewhere else because the store was difficult.)
Then I went and told them I want a lens/relationship with a local store. I went in but the good guy I spoke to is now on holidays (fair enough) but the new salesman I had did not properly answer my questions via email and told me to come into the store (where I was last talked into buying a $300 tripod with a $150 budget AND the tripod did not work for me and broke my lens
I also found the lens I want for $500 less than this store online (with 2 year Aus warranty) from at least 3 websites. They won't match.
I really want to support local service but it requires some better communication/service or pricing.
I also rate low as I have since joined photography forums and some experts have contradicted some of the sales puffery
I hope that helps others.
Response to owner response:
------------------------------------------------
1) I take responsibility for being oversold on the tripod. The salesperson was great - no fault there. I wanted a reliable tripod that would last - at $150. I paid $300 for peace of mind - but got a lemon (or at least an unsuitable item.)
2. You wrote: Just for you to understand and I will mention again here, so everyone that is reading this is clear, as you decided to review our store and not provide the full facts.
That is quite unfair and rude. In fact, I took my time to ensure I provided a fair representation of the facts.
EG. NUMEROUS TIMES I SPECIFICALLY ASKED FOR A LIST OF STORES YOU MATCH/DO NOT MATCH, so as to not waste our time. You did not provide.
This nebulous 'grey market' definition is confusing. Eg. The three prices I have that are less than $500 cheaper than yours state that they are
a) Australian; and
b) provide 2 year Australian warranty.
Now, undoubtedly there are nuances that I am unaware but you did not explain them via email (admittedly perhaps too complex, hence I asked for store you match/don't match.)
Ultimately, you state the advantage of buying from you is warranty, service, and peace of mind. Unfortunately I did not get that with my expensive tripod from you, so it is hard to trust you again.
I tried to get a reasonable price but it is ok. Feel free to disclose your markup/margin on lenses if you like. Skinny is relative and a variable amongst volume.
I wish you luck and do commend you on being polite and responsive throughout this whole process.
great price, few email, price match done, friendly staff with knowledge, will shop again.
Strangest thing. Went in to buy a lens. Found it cheap online. Felt I wanted to support local businesses. They didn't want to deal. They lost 3,000 today. What a Shame. After the fact of being told of not being able to price match which is fine. Still they were not willing to make a deal of any type.
Super helpful, fast and professional service! I will be back!
Have been shopping here for many many years (as have the rest of my family) and on most occasions they have been great and my last camera purchase (early January 2017) was no exception - they price matched to a Harvey Norman price - I was able to get the camera at that price and before collecting the camera the price on the Harvey Norman website was reduced and on passing the new price on to Leederville Cameras they were able to offer me a store credit for the difference which was great as I was able to purchase a grip and battery holder. I cannot give them five stars however as I feel the new staff are not as friendly as the old ones - especially Michael and Roy and Lidio - it doesn't help when a staff member insists that a particular lens only comes in black when you as the customer knows it comes in silver as well, as you were looking at it on the webiste of the manufacturer only an hour before. I hope the new staff are able to build the relationships the former staff did and maintain them.
Very poor customer service.
I went in the shop to find out if, and where, I could get a replacement memory card door for my Nikon D3100.
I was told it would cost $120 just for the service centre to look at my camera before a quotation was made. I explained that anyone who looked at the camera could see it was a low value part that needed replacing so to pay an astronomical fee just for a quote was unreasonable. The staff member said he would take my phone number and try and find out more information for me. Needless to say, I never received a call.
Anyway, I did a quick google to find that there is a Nikon repair centre in Malaga. I phoned them up and they gave me a quote over the phone for the repair and the repair cost was significantly lower than the cost for a quote from the Camera House.
The best advice the staff could have given in this situation would just be to let me know that there is a Nikon repair centre in Perth and that I should contact them directly, rather than quoting me an astronomical inspection fee then taking my phone number and failing to call me.
Ordered a camera to Melbourne earlier this week - to be unfortunately told it was out of stock (which was no surprise to me as I already had this news from other stockists)
Leederville cameras kindly called me back later in the day to advise of stock arriving later in the week.
I received the camera today, only a few days after ordering. Very happy with the service I received :) thanks guys.
