  I recently had a short trip to Bendigo and had two meals at the Lake View Hotel. The first night I had a scotch rib fillet with a really nice peppercorn sauce plus hand cut chips and broccolini. The steak was rare (as requested) but it was a little tough. The second meal was a Caesar salad with anchovies and a crumbed poached egg which was really nice. The croutons were a little too crisp but it went well with the bacon. The lettuce was crisp and the dressing was great. Not too much which is perfect for a Caesar salad.

  Great mid week lunch - cosy atmosphere and the meal was amazing (steak and veg). Ordered a house Shiraz which was one of the better house wines I've had. Staff were amazing, not only with us but a larger table in for lunch as well. Would go back any day!

  I enjoyed a latte with fruit toast and jam. My husband chose to have eggs al funghi which he found very tasty. Loved the fire.

  Not in the heart of town but a very clean and comfortable hotel.
  Right next to the pub with excellent food.
  The owner was friendly and helpful.
  Only 10 mins walk from the centre so no problems.
  You can also walk 5 mins to the lake which is great.
  Overall a good stay.

  We managed to score the last table at this great place on a long weekend in Bendigo. Staff were lovely and the meals were lovely, priced well and not too long a wait. We liked it so much we went back for breakfast.
  We'll definitely be back.
