Reseasonable Food and Service. Pretty standard for Lygon St but not exceptional. Don't order the Minestrone. The oysters were good.

We attended La Spaghettata Restaurant for a function and found it to have a great atmosphere, great service and absolutely delicious food. Well done. Keep it up.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! What a horrible experience, the food was terrible and overpriced. They actually offer you a free drink if you give them 5-stars in google maps. On top of the disgusting food and terrible service, they have a 5% SERVICE CHARGE. STAY AWAY!

I happened by this lovely restaurant and was greeted at the entrance by the proprietor Tony, with a welcoming smile. I chose the Beef Salad and was surprised by its size - HUGE!!
Very tasty and a lovely house red to go with it.
I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good feed ;-)

I did glance around at other patrons plates and they so looked delicious 😃

A side note: the warmth of the staff was just lovely.

Thank you for a relaxing experience in sunny Melbourne 😎😃

Really nice! I visited here recently with a friend and it was such a cute little venue. The garlic bread was lovely, and so was the arancini. I ordered a gnocchi bolognese for my main meal. The meal itself was nice - the gnocchi was the perfect texture, though the sauce wasn't anything special. It was nice, but not incredible.

I've been really sick in hospital for the past 3 months and my mum came to visit me the other day and we really wanted some good beautiful respectfully delicious Italian food.
I had the Gnocchi with Buffalo Mozzerella, mum had the Ravioli Fungi and my god. It was hands down the best meal I have had in a long time. The lunch made my day and reminded me of all the beautiful things I have to look for once my treatment finally finishes.

    Such is life.

My only issue is that I was asked to give a tip right there at the Eftpos machine on the spot. I also find it dodgy that the 'tip' isn't written nown so I hope that the help employees front of house are getting their tips fairly.

La Spaghettata is my favourite restaurant hands down on all the rest!

Thankyou for your great service and the delicious food.

    Cheers.

Great service. Pasta was hit and miss - spicy pasta were flavourful as were the Gnocchi but was let down by the lighter pastas. To be fair we had the pasta platters so the richer ones could have overpowered the rest.

One star, not because of the food. Food was great, and have eaten here several times. The one star is for the random 5% surcharge they apply to the bill. And it is not shown on the bill but added into the total. I couldn't figure out how the items added up to the total and when quizzed the guy out the front pulls out a menu as says the surcharge is stated right here in the small print!! .. it was just a normal Saturday and no public holiday. Ask before you enter.. I felt it was deceitful behaviour.

Food was good problem was the obnoxious and loud male employee who stands at the front of the restaurant trying to get people in. Whilst eating and with food on the table the fool turned on the sprinklers which deposit a mist supposedly to keep diners cool but which was deposited all over peoples food. Diners were scrambling to get napkins to cover the food on the tables.Absolute disgrace

The restaurant has a distinct Italian feel to it and much like the little restaurants in Italy, it has humble decor and is somewhat cramped.

Service was not too bad and food was served in good time.

Three of us ordered individual pasta dishes which were good and my partner and I shared the pasta platter which cost a little more than two pasta dishes and had three choices of pasta but quantity was only a little more than a single pasta dish. What a rip off!

Although everything that we ordered between the five of us tasted great, we ended up paying $23 more than our bill total!! They don't tell you what the charge is for, they only itemised our food and drink but the total which should be a simply addition of all items was instead a magically created number that was $23 higher than the total.

It's a shame the restaurant is so shifty otherwise the food was good.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Food is below average, the place is cramped and dirty. The filthy bed sheet looking table cloths make you nauseous from site, let alone the feel of them. And these could be the better parts to the service I received.
The wait staff were impolite and unprofessional. The little Italian man out the front spruiking their disgusting food was very 'in your face' and forceful.
After barely finishing the pathetic dinner we were charged an extra "5%" on top of the bill, as if we were being forced to tip the wait staff!
Is this place so poor they cant pay their staff wages!!?
What really ticked me off though was once I left and the calculated the surcharge I really ended up paying an extra 17% how do they get off!
