Very pleasant and welcoming team, ambience towards front of building is warming, rustic and social. Towards rear of building, more thought could be given to furniture selection, feels slightly cafe style compared with front. Solid cold floor, one fire place, no other heat so we were left slightly cold with a few couples huddled around the only fire. Starters ranging from $17-$24, not large selection but the cray fish was enjoyable. Mains $33 upwards, we chose the Special which was a spin on a french style hot pot/roast. $70 which was for 2 people to share. Very underwhelmed with main course, purple potatoes (very dry), hot pot, lacking real deep flavor expected. Meat was tender but this was probably from slow cooking. Wine chosen, $70 bottle. Later looked bottle up and rrp was around $27, which shows a very healthy mark up. Overall, what used to be a very good experience, and reasonable value for money, has now turned into, expensive (for what you get) not as comfortable, slightly pretentious. Wouldn't return.

Ordered Lamb & Beef steak & Squid. Also tried a glass of 2012 Michelle Harris Shiraz. Lamb dish is very nice, STRONG RECOMMEND! But houseport steak just Okay. Squid dish is under $20 but only few pieces. MH's Shiraz is not as good as the price. The service is good.

We had the pleasure of walking into Jimmy's Bar today for lunch. As we wandered through the town looking for something to eat, we chanced upon this terrific restaurant. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the food. The portions sizes were good, the quality of the local produce was outstanding and the food prep by the chef tied it all together beautifully.

The result, two very happy customers who will definitely be returning for more. Well done and thank you.
