A very very sad place to be. After the court case, I really had expected more but I was shocked that it was worse. Yes, you can see many animals and birds here. Yes, you can feed the kangaroos. Yes, you can pet the koalas and have photos taken with them. Yes, you can see one very lonely-looking fairy penguin.
The bare soil that made up most of the enclosures was remarkable.
I was sad and angry as well as mortified that I had brought another overseas visitor to see our wildlife.
The lovely lass who showed off the koalas was friendly and knowledgeable enough.
Could the cheap canteen-like area be made into a cheerful and attractive place to draw in more people? Absolutely.
It seems to need someone with a fresh set of eyes and ideas to come in and at the very least, revitalise the entire park.
There are enough bus loads of tourists to cater for.
The entrance fee is too high and doesn't seem like it is invested into the park.
Like I said, terribly sad and it doesn't have to be that way.

I really love visiting this park! They have special sessions to touch and feed certain animals there. Sadly you can't hug the Koala as it is illegal in the state, so you can only lightly pet them on the back. It's definitely a fun place to go with the kids! Highly recommend it for family outings.

I was very disappointed about the entrance fees
The park is pretty small and it takes not long to see everything. Actually it's a nice park but the entrance fees are much to high for that what the park offering you. I also saw some spots what needed a clean up. It should be tidy when the entrance fees are so high. YOu can touch Kangaroos und there is also a Koala you can take photos with. I liked the birds you can see on my photo. They provide bread to feet them.response / report this review -

This place is nice. It need a bit of work. Both from customer service and and surroundings. If you are not with a group you cannot see much. Sadly, I think many people will choose Featherdale over Sanctuary

This place should be closed down. Maintenance of public areas is dismal. The animals look sick and sad. 3 koalas and zero kangaroos. The "koala hospital" looks like the place time forgot: rusted out equipment, debris everywhere. Please do not go here. I am embarrassed I unknowingly supported this mess.

This place is sad, dirty, and gross. There are three koalas on the entire property and they are sick and sad. Disgusting conditions for all of the animals. It should be shut down and the animals should go to another place where they can actually be nurtured. Huge disappointment. DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR MONEY.

It has been a while (went in 2009) however from what I can remember it was a good experience, I greatly enjoyed myself observing the Australian native animals and getting up and close to the Koalas and the Kangaroos.
They need to improve parking though (not many spaces and does get busy) they also need to improve the way it looks from the front, especially the fence that runs the whole way along the front border of the park. Apart from that, I had a blast!response / report this review -

My first impressions were not great. It seemed a little rundown from the outside and the entry fee was on the expensive side. However, once we passed through the gate, my opinion changed considerably. We visited on a Friday so it was nice and peaceful. A couple of coach loads of tourists arrived but the park is big enough that you don't bump into each other unless you want to. The highlight of the day was hand-feeding the kangaroos and a beautiful peacock displaying his gorgeous feathers. The grounds are immaculate and the animals all seem very content. We'll be going back again for sure.
Update: We have returned twice since my original post two years ago and I'm happy to say that its still the wonderful place it was. On our last visit it was very quiet so we practically had the sanctuary to ourselves. We hand-fed lambs and kids their milk, we got very close to the koalas, dingoes, fairy penguins, reptiles and, again, the highlight, the kangaroos. The staff are welcoming and enthusiastic. All our favourite native animals in one compact place. My little boy loved it here. We could get really right up close to all the animals, pat a cuddly koala and interact with the beautiful friendly kangaroos. Friendly informative staff. Make sure you say hello to Boof the gorgeous dingo.

Here is the email I wrote to koala park:
Dear management at Koala Park,
I visited koala park with my family on 12/04/17. I was disgusted with what I saw.
The first thing we went to see were the koalas. There were approximately 20 school children aged between 5-10 years of age. The staff member attending the koalas allowed groups of 10 school children & adults in at a time. All of them touching the koalas at the same time - who were trying to sleep. A child had a camera flash about 3 inches from the koalas face, whilst others backed up next to the koalas to take photos - knocking down the big branch of tree the koalas were on.
How on earth do you allow this kind of conduct on your premises? We complained to scarce staff members who we found, who told us that this enclosure was put up because the government did not approve of the one before. I dread to think where the animals were kept before.
As a Londoner who was keen to see Australian wildlife, I was appalled at how the animals were kept at this park. I complained to the manager and the staff member assisting the koalas & public at the time. Of course I didn't get my money back. But it also seems like the staff members don't really give a toss.
I will post this on as many social media and review sites as I can to make sure things change at this shoddy koala park.

Very disappointing. Why call it a koala sanctuary when there are only three koalas in the whole park? You can't hold them or get your photo taken with them. Misleading and deceptive advertising. Plus, the place is run down and miles away from anything else. Don't bother.

My daughter & I had a great day exploring the park & feeding the animals! So many different animals & birds to view. If you are going to feed the animals esp the bottle feeding dont wear good clothes/shoes.
Such nice leafy grounds & lovely picnic area with new BBQs.

My son and i loved it!!!
120 out of 100 for keeping it going in now whats considered the big smoke!!!
It would be great if all local folks supported it and donated some funds to renovate it .
