Going to Kazan dining was such an amazing experience. I went here for my anniversary and they did not let us down. We went to kazan on a Monday, would recommend as it is not too busy and loud and the staff are attentive to you. We ordered the set menu, the amount of food that was served was very delicious and generous. The portion sizes were not too large as they will serve you many dishes throughout the set menu. Very worth the price and extremely filling. The cocktails were really well balanced and the flavours were beautifully thought through. The dessert was simple and delicious and they wrote 'happy anniversary' for our special occasion. When booking the restaurant online you can also select the option of occasion. And they were able to make our night even more special. Definitely would recommend to anyone who would love to celebrate and special occasion or would like to treat themselves to great Japanese food.

Kazan dining was a great date night experience.

We did the $120 set menu and every dish was delicious and full of flavour, we especially loved the cheesecake.

    Cocktails were also very nice.

Service was very attentive and lovely, each dish was explained upon arrival to the table.

Can’t fault the experience, will definitely be back!

Tucked upstairs at the back of the building, Kazan is a hidden gem. We loved every morsel of food. The snapper is divine. Best miso eggplant we have come across in a long time. Good balance of salty and sweetness with some crunch. We’ll definitely come back.

Decided to give this place a try with a group of four people on a Friday night. This contemporary Japanese restaurant was quite intimate and I would say perfect for date nights. Overall the food was cooked well. Tempura was crispy and not too heavy, daikon salad was unique and the fish was fresh. The service though was a bit hit and miss. One of our guest was running a bit late due to the traffic and public transport disruptions, and the person who appeared to be a manager was giving a bit of attitude to the rest of the guests who arrived (even though they already ordered the food). What was more disappointing was when all the parties arrived, the dishes which were ordered earlier was missed by the kitchen and we had to follow up multiple times. We were also not given soy sauce with our sashimi and when the table next to us was been cleared, their napkins were accidentally thrown towards my guests - and nothing was done. Towards the later part of the service, we also felt that we were rushed out - although there were plenty of 4 seater tables available and we were enjoying our drinks. As much as I understand the difficulties in hospitality industry right now, I think this lacked the right balance of service for their intended audience. I wouldn't mind trying again, given the food was decent, but service and agility needs to be improved.

3.5 stars. Service was really lovely and professional. The ambience was nice too. Cocktails were yummy. Ordered the $95 set menu and found the dishes to be quite average for the price. Nothing to fault but nothing wowed me either. Personally thought a few of the dishes were slightly on the sweeter side. All in all a positive experience.
