Why travel to Kangaroo island one night with a flight for $865 pp when there are deals to Bali and Thailand for 7 days This is a big problem in Australia especially after the bushfires as one couple were charged $300 in Gippsland for a night

Tour Context: 1st tour for K.I. Adventure Tours after the 2019/2020 bushfires on Kangaroo Island. Tour dates were 17&18th/Jan/2020.

    Pros:
    - Felt safe at all times during the tour (bushfires were contained to the North West of the island, which Jen, the tour guide informed us very early on)
    - Got a non standard experience of K.I. we as a tour picked up an injured koala (from the bushfires) and transported him in the tour trailer to the Parndana Wildlife Park. A special thanks to the locals who handled and treated the koala.
    - Pricing was very good. Tour was $473 all up (includes accommodation) not including souvenirs. If you were to do K.I. in your own car it's ~$300 return trip (taking a car onto the ferry). That's not including driving to and from Cape Jervis and driving on K.I. itself. Not including accommodation either.
    - 2 day tour is perfect for a weekend away.
    - The tour was fast paced and exciting. Sometimes a little too fast, but that was mainly due to backtracking because a few roads were still closed due to weakened roadside trees from the bushfires. We were informed by the tour guide, that K.I. plans to reopen all the roads within a couple of months time to help the tourism industry again.
    - I highly doubt you would get such a full experience of K.I. in a weekend if you were to go by yourself.
    - Locals were all lovely people to communicate with and very friendly.
    - Very age friendly. Whatever your age, you should be able to join in on most activities.
    - Wonderful beaches, wonderful beaches everywhere.

    Cons:
    - (very minor) Tour was a bit too fast at times. Jen did her best to reorganise the tour around the bushfires and the road closures which unfortunately put a squeeze on us for the second day. We persevered and I thoroughly enjoyed the trip!
    - (very minor) Because of the bushfires/closed roads we did miss things such as Remarkable Rocks / Admirals Arch & Vivonne Bay accommodation (unfortunately burn't in the bushfires). There was easily enough to see and do even with these subtractions, especially over a weekend.

Who I'd recommend this tour to: Anyone who wants a full experience of K.I. in a short time frame / without using up annual leave and a reasonable price.

    Thanks Jen!

We did a two-day tour from Adelaide to Kangaroo Island. To save time, we had booked flights for both ways. The tour was one of the highlights of my 5-weeks trip to Australia. Our excellent and knowledgeable guide Alaine showed us all the famous and many secret places on Kangaroo Island (some of them private territory owned by the tour company). We saw many koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, and even an echidna right after our pick-up from the airport on the first day. Visiting the sea lion colony at Seal Bay was a truly memorable experience. For lunch, Alaine set up a gourmet picnic (on the first day on the company’s private grounds in the middle of the bush, on the second day at the picnic facilities of Flinders Chase Visitor Center) - she had even brought a table-cloth. The salads, meat, cakes and wine were delicious. On the first day we had a luxury mini-van with a lot of space for the four of us, unfortunately on the second day we had to squeeze into a smaller car which was a bit uncomfortable. Apart from that, the tour was just amazing! We had an unforgettable time.

Highly recommend the 2 day Kangaroo Island tour! Kate took us around Kangaroo Island and we couldn't have asked for a better tour guide or experience. Kate is the most bubbly, funny, approachable and knowledgeable guide. She goes above and beyond to share the highlights of Kangaroo Island & you can tell she is passionate about nature & wildlife. We absolutely loved our time on this tour! Thank-you!

    This tour is absolutely amazing.

If you want to make the most of 2 days, this is the way to do it.

Don't even bother with the 1 day tour because you get to see so much more with 1 extra day.

Our guide Jen was an absolute legend, she knew everything there is to know about the island and the wildlife.

We saw so many amazing beaches, all kinds of wildlife (echidna, kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, seals etc). You get super close to the sealions which was such an awesome experience.

You also get to try sandboarding, see sheep shearing, have time to go kayaking (which I definitely reccommend).

The Vivonne bay lodge is a great place to stay over night, beautiful and quiet.

You will not go hungry on this tour, even us grass munching vegans were well fed ;)

Again, massive thanks to Jen who made this tour a magical experience for us. Hopefully she'll be guiding for many more years!
