Well it was different but definitely not worth the $$ paid. The room (yes room) is basically 10x15 ft and consists of moulded plastic walls, some crudely carved ice sculptures, and a few frozen benches to sit at and play Connect 4 and Jenga.
You are not allowed to use your own camera whilst in there. Instead, they have 4 "professional" cameras around the room that seemed to go off at random, and honestly took pretty terrible pics - 1. because of angle and unpreparedness, 2. the quality and resolution was quite low. You then have the option of purchasing these photos at $12 each.
Staff interaction was rather poor. They fussed over a group that was obviously spending more money, the rest of us kinda left to our own devices. Plus they kept going in and out of the room via a back door that was widely n
    Changes that would improve:
    Cocktail List - boring
    Staff - customer focused
Photos - guests can take as they like. Guests post these on social media, looking much more fun than standard posed ones on site. Gets people more interested, more come, more money made than $12 pics 🤷‍♀️
    Anyways, just a thought.

Such a different, unique, FUN experience! You can’t take photos on your own phone however you can take pictures with the setup they have there and then buy any photos you like but it’s definitely fun and worth it. It’s worth a visit, especially for us as we came from Canberra. Drinks are delicious we had one shot and one cocktail each and it was one of the best ones I ever had. The guy that served me at the bar was really nice. Has really nice props for the photos and you should definitely buy your photos to keep as a memory!! Probably my #1 favourite place in Melbourne.

Wasn’t sure what to expect, but wanted to tick off the bucket list. Love that these guys have done something new and quirky.

Our thoughts on our experience: the staff were fantastic from the lady that kitted us out to the bar staff.

Mocktail list was small and they weren’t great.

Everybody was taking their own photos when we had been asked not to which was prob good as there wouldn’t have been a whole lot to do! It’s tricky to work around each other in the small space.

We didn’t know about the set up photos and how they worked until we asked.

It was definitely fun and a unique experience I would recommend for partygoers but prob not a family style event.

I’m sure with feedback this will grow to something even greater and phenomenal experience.

Was looking for something different to do on a visit to Melbourne from Sydney. The Ice Bar delivered. Highly recommend pre-purchasing extra shots/photos before arrival. Felt so strange to not have my phone out taking my own pics, but good quality pics bought there, & the fun of pressing the button & rushing back to the seat to beat the flash warmed us up❣️ We enjoyed the air hockey, & connect four, downside is that in the small area, a lot of other people mean not much room to walk around, and play the games, including a giant wood stick building game.
The staff were friendly, the provided jackets & gloves much appreciated and necessary 😊 It was a novelty that many ppl know of but hadn't tried, we enjoyed it 🥰

Wouldn't recommend. Overrated & pretty boring.
You go into a small space for 45 minutes with about 10 other people. It would've been more fun if we were allowed to take our own photos, because they DO have very cool props there.

However, you're only allowed to take photos using their stationary cameras, which are facing boring spots of the bar. I read in our reviews here Ice Bar's reply that the idea of not taking personal photos is to allow other visitors a surprise when they go in. I think it's a mistake. Having lots of smiling faces promoting your bar is free advertising, but of course, that's your call..

The children seemed to enjoy themselves with some games (you gotta pass the 45 minutes somehow!). Only 3 choices of mocktails & the chocolate one was the only good one. All came in a tiny glass.

From the raving reviews, I expected more. At least the kids had fun 👍
