We were at the Hyde Park hotel on Thursday night. We ordered onion rings for a starter and chicken parma's for our mains. The food is usually average but because it's our local we keep going back in the hope that we might get good every now and then. Thursday however took it to a whole new level of bad. The parma's which arrived before the onion rings were disgusting, the sauce was so bland, the cheese was barely melting and greasy, and the chicken was undercooked. All of the staff have changed with none of the regulars there. The service was incredibly slow and it wasn't even busy. We won't be going back - enough is enough!
Great food, the alfresco nature of the dining room is amazing and totally non-bogan.
The "Hydey" has improved out of sight recently, with new staff, a new menu and much better quality food.
Always a Pub Pub Food good beer. Great place for a drink with your partner and friends . Worth a trip there to check it out.
Lacking in character since Woolworths bought it. Nice beer, terrible parking. All hard surfaces and straight lines.
Was there right now. Waited 20 minutes to get even asked. The pub waitress I am sure was racist. She looked passed me 3 times. Don't go there. You won't get served.
A group of us have been going to the Hyde Park Hotel for a few months now, and have yet to be disappointed. We first went to try the $15 steak special on Tuesday's, and have been back every week since. The steak is always delicious, the chips are crunchy and the salad is great. Be sure to try out the cocktail menu as well. It's quiet hard to have "just one" of their piña coladas.
Every Wednesday night is Ribs and Reggae. Great atmosphere and delicious pub grub. ORA plays on Wednesdays. Great music!
Great week night specials. Went on a Tuesday for the rump steak special. Meat was cooked perfectly, side salad was great, chips were fresh and crispy. Overall it was a great meal. More of a pub vibe than a restaurant, good for drinks and watching some sport. Definitely recommend giving this place a shot.
They've cost themselves a regular customer by getting rid of free pool. It's why I came. Mates and I would come and play pool while drinking and eating but in a quest to pump an extra 2$ out of us they've started charging again.
I will never be back based on principle alone. Super offended at this decision!
Very rude staff at the restaurant end of the pub. Although I enjoyed my surf and turf the rest of our group were not happy with their meals. Wouldn't recommend.
Great burgers and $8 pints. Friendly staff too. Ya can't go wrong!!!
I love The Hyde Park hotel, easy going casual place, but the food def needs to be improved. Generally fair best describes the food qlty and the menu choices arent great, needs improving. Happy hr prices are a bonus
We eat here, at least, once a fortnight. The food is acceptable, sometimes even verging on good. The kids menu is very popular with my 9 year-old with a range of healthy-ish options. The steak sandwich is a staple that never lets us down. The goat curry lacked the full flavour of a free range goat, maybe it was a kid goat rather than a old, tough goat, which delivers so much flavour. Despite this they deserve kudos for offering goat. The real let down, for me, is the Caesar salad. For $18 the portion is far too small. It comes with a halved boiled egg, some bacon bits and the biggest fried-then-cooled croutons. A Caesar salad is very simple to make but the Hyde Park doesn't do it very well. Overall though, the food won't let you down.
