Clearly a massive labour of love restoring and maintaining this amazing village, it is clear why it has won so many awards. I experienced billy tea, stew and damper - how special! Make sure you have plenty of time to take it all in and visit the teahouse and giftshop before you go.
Every building is a museum in itself and a monument to the people of Herberton.
You need at least one full day to appreciate the detail and love that the owners and staff put in to makes this a very worthwhile experience. Beats Sovereign Hill easy
Just beautiful. A real credit to the creator and those that are carrying on his dream.
Thank you.
Its been 2 yrs since our last visit. So much has been done. This place always impresses me. Staff great. You really need to spend the whole day. We spent 4 1/2 hrs and still didn't get to see it all. So much to look at. Lovely teahouse, good food and reasonably priced. Great coffee too!!
.
This place is an absolute must see. It is fantastic showing us what it would have been like in our early history with such an array of equipment etc. It bought back so many memories and it is beautifully displayed, so clean, no dust and the best part of all we were able to take our dog on a lead. They are made most welcome. The scones & coffe and our camp oven damper & stew for lunch was delicious. 10 out of 10
it was a really fun place there are some rare cars and bikes that u wont see anywhere else there is also some really cool old iteams
Great place too much to see in 1day.
A nice little town worth spending at least 2-3 hours at. The food available was a bit last century though, maybe to match the historic theme!
To be honest I thought this was going to be lame but I was wrong. If you like history and museums THIS place is for you.
We didn't have enough time to see everything so make sure you plan a full day to walk around. Eat at the tearoom! Delicious!
DO NOT miss the old cars. Sooo cool!
Glad we got out even for a couple hours.
Only complaint is if you are open until 5 - have people there all day instead of close things at 3 and 4. That was disappointing. And have someone to answer history questions about the buildings and such.
Worth the time to go!
This place is seriously mind boggling and the range of memorabilia here is unbelievable. You can easily spend all day. An absolute credit to the owners and everyone involved in the maintenance and upkeep. A must-see!
