This PLACE is absolutely DISGUSTING !!!
.and it's our first time as a Group of Tourist- We ordered the famous Pork Leg (Shank) but instead they gave us this so we had no choice but to Re-order again then when we can't finish this time we asked for a Container to take-away and (I remember this) the Waitress said: "Unfortunately We don't allow to Take-away, We rather dispose it as garbages" , and then she just walk-away from our table !

My girl and I ordered the barramundi I think it was. 45 each and we got a small piece of over cooked tasteless rubber each. Won't order food there again. Nice area at least

Ordered camembert cheese with chorizo as starters. Very average. Then pork as the main. Was terrible!! Crackling was fatty, a massive dollop of disgusting onions.. which i normally love. Way over priced for crappy food! Only reason why we went here is because everywhere else in the swan valley were closed for food. It has low ratings for a reason! Don't beleive me try for yourself!

Food, beverage and service is satisfactory. Portion sizes for meals and drinks are on the small end of the scale. Prices are on the more expensive side. Drinks purchased from the bars must be paid in cash which is annoying.

An actually good Barvarianesque meal to be had. As a reviewer this now vexes me. To be honest, the recent low reviews almost had me go elsewhere, but in some way it twinged my macarbe interest to see for myself.
Perhaps it was Sunday and there wasn't a big crowd. But we stuck to classics. Wurst platter and the pork shank (which is the chefs special) and it was brilliant. This isn't Yelp, but I'll give an abridged. Potato onion and sauerkraut accompaniments would have made a good meal, however the shank was delivered -as described- wrapped in incredible crackling, whilst the meat was roasted to melt in the mouth perfection. Wursts were as expected delicious. Props to Christine, whom IS a German, for guiding is through the menu and wonderful pairings with the on-site brew.
The servings are Barvarian in their generosity, and my primary complaint would be that my eyes were larger than my stomach's capacity.
So here's the thing. They actually earnt my rare 5 stars. Service great, food excellent, and price I would nominally crucify, but the portions and the delivery, at least for my selection, actually makes the proposition good value.
Oh and protip. Be sure to have a coffee before you drive back to Perth as food coma is a very real dangerresponse / report this review -

we ordered a sirloin steak which was 300 grams with chips mushroom sauce ( $45 )and i said to my 14 yo daughter that she wouldn't finish it. when it came out it was thin and and no way 300 gr questioned the waitress as to it being 300 grams and she was young and didn't know i have had better pub steaks.
the 3 different verity sausages came with mash and cabbage ($35) was bland disappointing and the quiche was average
there was no money for value here extremely over priced

A wonderful evening with delicious food. Awesome wait staff, Clarke in particular was amazing with my step-daughter. We'll definitely go back.

Worst experience!
Was on a tour, got told to go and enter down the back, we were not allowed in the restaurant even though most of us wanted to order food and have a meal. Groups were herded into a paddock with porter loo's. It was cash only if we wanted to get cash out we had to wait in a line and 1 by 1 go in to use the ATM. We asked if we could use the toilets inside and got told no yours are down the back.
It was horrible! We had a pregnant lady who could hardly fit into the overflowing porter loo's!
Our choice of food was chips or a pretzel!
Will never return there and happy to advise anyone else to not waste their time!response / report this review -

$43 for the sirloin steak. had big expectations considering the cost . The cut of meat was below average cooked too rare. Also ordered the side chorizo dish for $27!!! Came out with 4 different types of chorizo and Turkish bread with no dipping sauce? . If your prepared to spend the money then do so but my opinion is definetly not worth it .

Just had a 2 week holiday in W.A. This place was terrible. Did enjoy trying the beer sample tray then it all went very bad. Had to go outside because there was no room inside. This must be where you put all the drunks and swearers. Very nasty when a bus of drunks and half naked young ladies come in and you have booked a very large childs birthday party out there at the same time. Felt so sorry for the family . We were sitting near the bus people and it was very uncomfortable. Then we ordered 2 bowls of chips and 2 bowls of fried chicken, Expecting actual chicken wings or drummies, ever something that looked like chicken we received a small handful on steggles sandwich chicken that had been thrown on the grill to heat through. Boom!! $43 !!! Never Never again!!! You only ever get me once. every where else l went was great food and value.

After pre booking a group of 7 to arrive at Elmars on the Sunday long weekend, we were refused entry because they had no record of the booking. Whilst finding the email confirmation on my phone (which I found eventually), the head of security decided to refuse entry because I said I was stressed out that any error in the booking would compromise the day for my guests. My guests had warned me against the location but I insisted on going to Elmars. Never will that happen again.

A group of mature friends went to Elmars for a birthday celebration.
The food was OK but pricey and the beer was also reasonable, although not as good as the beer in Germany.
What was really unpleasant was the security guards stand-over tactics. Evidently they close the outside bar at 5pm and you have to leave without sufficient time to finish your beer (one person had just bought a Stein and couldn't enjoy it as a security guard told us at 4.50 that we needed to be out of there). At 6 minutes to 5 pm THREE guards with surly expressions reminded us again that time was up. Consequently we were herded out like sheep. Considering that we had just spent a small fortune I was extremely annoyed by their behavior and felt my heckles rising (I am 70). I am not surprised that they could have trouble there from time to time as the guards create an antagonistic atmosphere themselves unnecessarily. Needless to say we carried onto the Duckstein down the road and had a far more courteous reception and stayed to 9pm.

Beer is great!
Pork knuckle wins over pork belly (and i am really not a knuckle fan!)
Sausages are the best!
All is well here - but Duckstein has got better sourkraut! ^_^
