I am beyond ecstatic and absolutely thrilled with the service I received from David and his staff Alex, Suzanne, Stephanie and Samantha - both in person, via phone and email. Perfect. Incredible experience, they really know their stuff! Not just that, but excellent, exceptional customer service also. My glasses are AMAZING!
David Shanahan is an independent optometrist, and you will have quite a significantly different experience to any that you have received at large chain stores. It will cost you a little more $$$ - but it is worth it for piece of mind, and for having experienced people to talk to. It may in fact change your life. I chose to see David after looking at everyone's bio's on the website. David's says, "His special area of interest is in solving unusual vision problems." And solve my vision problems, he sure did.
I highly recommend you speak to David and his team if you have any vison related needs. Even if it's just the once to see how different it is to the chain stores if you're used to only going to them. I doubt you'd go back to a chain store after (quite literally) seeing the difference though. The examination will take time though - they are so, so thorough - so do allow for that. I was even offered contact lenses to wear whilst trying on my glasses so I could actually see them properly. How about that?
I was crying when I picked up my glasses and put them on for the first time. Not because I was sad, but because I could not believe I could read all the words on the paper from biggest to smallest without having to hold them up to eye level. This is what I'd been told I'd have to do when I went to a chain store, and I could have spent the rest of my life doing that.

Such a shame to return to what was a wonderful optometrist and be refused service as a returning client due to DSO’s decision to implement discriminatory business policy. Surprisingly, the booking system does not acknowledge this change nor state any medical requirements for appointments. The optometrists need upskilling in understanding WA public health advice including reduced risk, GP clearance and Government issued medical exemptions. This is not the usual policy of local optometrists many who are upfront in stating that they don’t require private medical information to access their services. Such a poor business decision impacting clients who have previously supported and recommended this local business.

Great service!
I went to buy my second pair of glasses at David Shanahan's shop last Saturday, and experienced once again the great advice from their team (Alex)!

Great shop! Every time I go there I feel very welcomed. Alex always helps me thoroughly to choose my glasses and she has great advices. I love my new pair of glasses. Thank you very much!
