This is perfect if you love your dog as much as we love ours - if your pooch is one of the family, why go anywhere else? great for families and also couples. These are a really well-designed and presented holiday cottages
Beautiful, homely, spacious cottages that are oh so cozy and comfortable. Di & Stuart are so very welcoming and friendly, and add personal touches that make all the difference. It was so refreshing and relaxing to be surrounded by nature and therefore have a break from the pressures of everyday life for a while. We will be going back :-)
Countrywide Cottages had the best facilities for self contained accommodation that we have ever seen, especially as we came from out of state. The cottage was spotlessly clean and all we needed was there, even the olive oil! The treats and things for the dog were very thoughtful and we thoroughly enjoyed our 8 days there. Both humans and dog were rapt! Will definitely stay again
As someone who doesn't often write reviews, I felt compelled to share our experience at Countrywide Cottages.
From the moment we arrived with our 2 doggos Snow and Casper, we were greeted by Di and team and were welcomed with dog treats and cookies for adults!
We booked two nights but wish we could've stayed longer. Getting away for a few days is the greatest and we couldn't of asked for a better place to stay.
Beautiful linen, comfortable couches, a massive back yard for the dogs to roam around, and most importantly, an already lit fireplace!
Supplied birdseed was a bonus and the dogs made quite a few new birdy friends.
We will definitely be coming back and can't wait to spend some more time here.
If I could rate this better than 5 out of 5, I would.
Di and team, we thank you very much for our stay. We haven't stopped talking about it!
Kind regards,
Tim and Yvette.
Thank you for making us feel welcome. We really felt like home, with all the home made cookies for our gorgeous puppy, beautiful fireplace and everything else at our finger tips. Loved the walks, the lake , loved everything about it. very relaxing and peaceful place to be. For sure we will be back.
Our first time at Countrywide Cottages - and certainly wont be our last. A short stay of only 4 nights and even though the weather wasn't great we had an enjoyable time with our 2 dogs. We're very particular about where we stay with our dogs and are always nervous when trying a place for the first time. The yard was very secure and we could easily keep an eye on them from the comfort of the cottage. The wood fire was very cosy on the cold nights - as were the electric blankets and very comfy beds.
We had a wonderful weekend in the Igloo cottage. The cottage was clean and cozy, a great place to sit by the fire and enjoy the view outside. The dogs enjoyed the secure yard and the long walks and we'll definitely be back again.
We had a great impromptu stay at Countrywide Cottages in June. Our dog was very happy with the large secure yard and home made doggy snacks provided. A quiet bush setting with plenty of activities in the area for outdoor fun. We enjoyed a day trip over to Forrest for mountain biking and lunch at the brewery before heading back along the Great Ocean Road on our last day. Di was a brilliant and generous host. Highly recommend for dog lovers or anyone just wanting a bush getaway.
We drove 4.5 hours to get there and it was worth every minute. A beautiful place and was pleasantly surprised to find that the local wildlife hasn't been deterred by the presence of dogs. Loved being able to take our pets and find they were truly welcomed. Will be returning often.
My husband and I and our three dogs, an Irish Setter, a GAP Greyhound, and a Jack Russell cross spent four wonderful days at Ferny Reach cottage. It was everything the website promised, and more. Our dogs were safe and secure in the large back yard, and the cottage was a pure delight, so well appointed and delightfully and tastefully decorated. The bush walks were fun, safe and well defined. We played a game of table tennis at Ned's Retreat while waiting for a shower to pass, then it was back out on the trail. We self catered, and wanted for nothing in the kitchen. The bed was very comfortable and everything was clean and fresh, without a hint of any previous guests. Whilst checking out I mentioned to Di that our nine year old greyhound struggled with the steep steps leading up to the back door, and she said I had only to let her know earlier, and a ramp would have been provided. This was our first Puppy Holiday, and it won't be our last. We are looking forward to coming back again, only this time we will stay much longer. Four days was far too short a stay at such a lovely place. Thanks Di and Stuart, your attention to detail is second to none.
We absolutely loved our stay at Countrywide Cottages. The accommodation was lovely - warm and inviting, very clean and beautifully maintained. The cottages have everything you need! It's the perfect place to relax and unwind because you're right in the heart of bushland, surrounded by trees and nature but there's lots to do - wineries, bush walks and beaches not far away.
Di and Stuart are fantastic hosts, just so friendly and welcoming. The best part is how accommodating they are to dogs. We aren't often able to take our dog away with us but not only are dogs welcome, they are catered for so well. Our dog had a ball running around and exploring and swimming in the damn. It's so nice to find a place that is so welcoming to pets! He even had his own bed, bowls, blanket and couch cover so he could sit on the couch. Very spoilt!
The attention to detail and small touches is what makes Countrywide Cottages so wonderful. We will absolutely be back very soon!
Thanks again for such a great time. 5 stars!
Very impressed with everything. The suites are extremely well equipped and despite being pet friendly, the rooms and furniture are very nice and everything is in near perfect condition. We stayed there as a group of 6 and were very happy. We had a huge private yard with shade for the dog to enjoy and did lots of walking on the forest trails. We also loved the barbecue area which has its own dog field and fetch toys plus billiards and table tennis!
Using the usual words like friendly, warm, welcoming, relaxing and quiet all come to mind when you stay here. But its the little things that count so much that people over look. The effort that Di has gone to to make sure that the kitchen is fully stocked and sensible is amazing. We rented Ferny and Igloo and spend time in both houses. Happily letting our three HUGE dogs and one who thought she was in the land of giants run about in a fully secure fenced area. Treats, bowls and blanket to cover the lounge for the fur babies. All made the whole experience fantastic.
The little touches that created a stress free break was noticed by all of us and much appreciated.
