Nice place to shop, but be mindful of the 2 hr parking limit if you go over it will cost you $75. And you don't have to be over by much.
Simply an enormous shopping place that pretty much sells everything. You will need to be a Costco member to be able to purchase goods and also to be able to park in their parking area. Also you'll need a gold coin to be able to use their trolleys aswell. The only part I didn't quite like is the Costco lift which operates very slow (can't even tell if it's moving) but the lift is huge! Can even fit a vehicle inside!
They sell just about everything here.just check out the photos and you'll see what I mean. They sell groceries, deli goods, breads, cakes and confectionery, dairy, meats, poultry, seafood, frozen foods, fruit and vegetables, alcohol, toiletries and cosmetics, supplements, housewares, gift ware, school and office supplies, electrical and electronics goods including computers and TVs, clothing, automotive goods, eye-wear, cleaning and garden supplies and the list goes on. You can also buy window furnishings, tires and even coffins. They also run regular member savings coupons which offer additional discounts on special products. Goods are usually sold in bulk packages so you have to be able to store the extra quantities at home. Prices are usually good but you do have to check as sometimes you can do better at other stores like Aldi. Costco is a membership based warehouse so you have to pay an annual membership fee. A normal consumer which I think they call a Gold Star Member pays $60 per year and businesses like cafes and restaurants pay $55 per year. Parking at this Costco outlet can be difficult especially on weekends.
I was a frequent shopper at Costco in Pentagon Washington DC. The place no doubt has the best service. However, Costco Dockland Australia is different. Extremely racist and rude staff (cashiers and “the exit door guy”.
Now I question why Costco even deserves one star. Management should consult with your headquarter in the United States on how to run a proper shopping warehouse and customer services.
Really really uncomfortable experience here just because of the staff. Stay away from this place until they restructure their business.
Prices are cheaper than supermarkets and stores, depending on what you're after. I found their organic foods to be much cheaper than the health food stores which is a plus for me. Their kitchenware, clothing, shoes and kids toys are of great quality and price too. Most food products are in bulk so it's fantastic for families. There is just too much to mention, so I recommend everyone to at least go and check out Costco once.
Nice place. I recommend the mince meat because it's very clean from fat. This place has very good prices but not in all the products. For example, strawberries are quite expensive but there are a lot of products with very cheap prices.
Someone please teach me how to spend less than $100 dollars per visit!
Jokes aside, Costco delivers on quality and quantity. They offer an extensive range of products, from food, to vegetables, to computers, televisions, even hearing aid and a giant teddy bear! Sometimes they offer products at a bargain price, sometimes more expensive than supermarkets. Their roasted chicken is a steal though, as well as their restaurant/canteen area. A large hotdog with unlimited soft drink for only $2 surely delivers on value.
Some staff members do not have any sense of costumer service. At times, people manning the exit would rather have their own not-so-private conversations than politely check peoples' purchases. It is a membership warehouse, meaning customers sooner or later will have to decide whether or not to renew their memberships. Your employment, more or less depends on memberships! Keep that in mind, you'll probably be grateful you have the job!
If your parking runs over 2 hours, ask staff for a pass. Easy peasy.
So Costco is not necessarily the cheapest, but they deliver on quality. Avoid the fruit & veg, as better value can be found at markets with no wastage due to bulk buying. Anything Kirkland is excellent, especially the maple syrup. If you own a pet, the savings in quality food, kitty litter etc. alone will pay for the membership fee on the first visit. So anything else is a bonus. Clothing is always worth a look for good quality basics. Refrigerated foods all excellent, as are snacks. The seaweed packs, amazing. Muffins and bagels - essential. Meat is tender, really good. Lamb packs are great value.
Overall, worth the membership fee if you consider the price:quality ratio. Staff aren't overly friendly, but they're fine and helpful when needed. Customer service Aussie style.
Loved it!! First time today..so many great dealsgoing back in 3 days to do a big shop 😊
We came here for the first time today, and it had way more than I expected. Bulk deals, fresh food, big space.
Well worth heading in for your shopping if you're close by, and have access to a membership (other is $60).
We also had lunch here after shopping and the pizza for $14 is huge. Well worth a bite after a shop.
1) Wish they had more Christmas presents in store like the UK. lacks in that department.. the extra special gifts for Christmas For example beautiful bottles of olive oil and pasta jars Hampers and lovely Christmas gifts
2) Parking gets very congested inside to the point when you are leaving can take ages to get out One time took us 45 to move.. It was grid lock They would not raise the boom gates to relieve the congestion and mayhem that was going on People were beeping it was crazy.. The guy at the boom gates got a mouth full of words from me and I'm sure from others as well. Costco you need to be aware when people need to leave and the traffic is banked up all through the car park you need to raise the boom gates to let people out so more are able to enter and find Parking once it's cleared. Simple really
Parking issue!!! Avoid paying the $75 fee by doing the following. Now for all you people who gave it 1 & 2 stars solely because of the parking, read carefully.
Step 1 - Drive into Costco car park, park the car, exit the car, enter Costco with your membership card.
Step 2 - Shop for 2 hours and 1 minute, pay for your goods at the register. Now, this is the tricky part, so read carefully, on your way out, walk to the counter at the exit, present your receipt and ask for a exit pass. Exit pass will be handed to you.
Step 3 - keep the exit pass, do not misplace it, its worth $75, walk to your car, load up and drive to the exit gates
Step 4 - Once at the exit gate, scan your pass and exit.
Step 5 - change your 1 & 2 star review to 5 stars
How did I know about the magical pass, well, i read all these stupid complaints about parking, so I called Costco, spoke to the friendly staff, they informed me of the above. WOW, now wasn't that easier than having a cry over how parking is a rip off.
Membership of $60.. Now, if none of you people have realised, it's for members only. You can sign up for a membership online or sign up in any of their stores. Here is the catch, if you are not happy with 12 months of signing up as a Costco member, you can have your membership refunded back to you. So, if you just want to browse around pay the membership, and on the way out get a full refund.
