Very good hospital and stuff, 5 stars
This hospital has quite good doctors and nice rooms compared to other public hospitals I have been in. Food is very typical or a hospital with other quite-mediocre options on level two such as a cafe and a auxiliary shop which sells a variety of snacks. Staff have been quite nice but nurses can be a bit hit and miss dependent on their mood or time of day. There are a large variety of areas to rest outside of hospital rooms such as community and family rooms on every Ward and floor. There is also a large waiting area in the lobby on level two where the cafe, shops, chemist, reception and entrance are all located. The hospital itself is very clean and has a lot of support services. It is also quite decorated creating a friendly atmosphere.
Made me wait and wasted my afternoon. But eventually let me leave
Would give 0 stars if possible. Was told it would be an hour wait, turned out to be over 6 hours and I left without even seeing a doctor
The biggest public hospital in Canberra and the region doing an incredible job in an ageing infrastructure with its dedicated staff.
Very good doctors! Pediatric department is great! They are better than private doctors.
I am a long term patient after having a car smash on march 9/2017.I am arranging t get my wife home thru here and the only staff that are a bit rough are the weekend staffthe food is all OK and the nursing staff will help October,so I am getting some of my taxpayer money back from all the years I have paid taxes
The accident wasnt planned,BUT it happened,I am a pension ften and as quick as possible.
am here til at least October
Overall the hospital staff are great and I think for prenatal care it's spot on! However I had some really bad advice from a midwife who insisted I not feed my baby more than 2.5 MLS, of course this lead to him losing a lot of weight and 2 days after being released we were readmitted! We also had one Midwife tell me to take panadol as directed on the box to help ease labour pains but were then told that this could have caused a lot of harm to my baby and I. I've had extremely rude midwives who refused to even think something could be wrong and insist I go home and would be very aggrieved when I said I was uncomfortable with that. I did have good midwives but I also had A LOT who acted like my opinion was not valid and gave me terrible advice that put me and my baby at harm .
Fish was dry and inedible it tasted like dry chicken, sadly staff couldnt care. One positive the coffee wasn't that bad. Sorry but we will not be returning here.
Nothing but praise for all the staff during my recent 3 week stay. All very professional and hardworking.
government is doing a lot to wards hospital . never heard any shortage of any thing. BUT problems are greater in Canberra hospital , specially in night shift nurses do not attend patients calls on time , there for patients vee on beds several times . than nurses scream on patients that why you didn't call us . patients are terrified to make any complain about staff .at the same time there are best nurses in same hospital who do their job very honestly .
You might as well kill yourself now - you won't get help with mental health problems at Canberra Hospital.
Went to Mental Health Centre to ask for help with my mood control disorder on 24/1/16. I was bluntly told to go away. Avoid Canberra Hospital if you have mental health problems.
