Nadine treated my broken tooth today after an emergency appointment. What I liked especially was her good, sincere and common sense advice. She also made me feel at ease, listened well and did an excellent job with a lovely gentle touch. I recommend her very highly (and I've experienced a few dentists in my many years!) Just attended Maven Dental Cairns City for my regular cleaning appointment. I always see Alana as shes nice and gentle. Dr Rod checked my teeth for me and did my filling on the same day!

Fantastic Dentist, Michael Slatcher. He is very friendly and excellent at his work. I have been going to him for over 10 years and can't speak highly enough of his Dentistry. I also see Alana the Hygienist there and sheep too is kind and gentle. I have the biggest phobia of dentist but both Michael and Alana put me at ease. I would highly recommend Cairns City Dental you will surely be made at ease from the receptionists especially Kelly who will look after all your bookings etc.

City Dental have excellent Dentist's, however my complaint is with just one Dentist in particular - Dr. Rod Whitehead.

Dr. Whitehead noticed an old molar filling that needed to be redone, rather than replacing the whole filling he only replaced half of the original filling. This poor seal allowed an infection causing me to have a root canal and crown costing $3000.00 in total, not to mention the most excruciating tooth pain I have ever experienced.

If this review saves just one other person from making the same mistake I did then this review is worth my time.

I have been a dentist shopper for awhile now. My husband had recommended his dentist Dr Steve England to me for awhile. Reluctantly i made an appointment and asked the receptionist for the kindest and most gentlest dentist they had, the one who can deal with anxious and frightened patients. They said all are good of course but Dr Michael was especially good with scared patients. So i booked my first appointment, hesitantly i was accompanied by his assistant into the room. Dr Michael asked if i had any issues straight away. Yes i replied i hate coming to the dentist. He calmed me down and reassured me that they wouldn't be doing anything today, just an examination and talk about what next. Dr Michael offered many options for pain relief, including local and general anesthetic. Over the top i know but this is why my teeth got in the bad condition they are. But what he suggested for options was just what i needed and wanted to hear. Someone who cared about my fear and anxiety and mental well being. I am proud to say that i have had two more appointments using a combination of medications and treatments, without incident. I feel calm and reasonable to make more appointments as needed and will not let my teeth get into a bad state again.
