The pizza here is the real thing. OMG! Delicious every time. Authentic Italian. Actually so much better than plenty of places I've been to in Italy herself.

Good coffee but the place isn't especially welcoming. Not bad, just not good either. It's just a big cafeteria but nicer decoration. You order food and coffee, get a number and find a seat. They bring your food but you have to go and wait for your coffee number to be yelled out, they don't bring that to you.
Unless you're in a hurry, go to a real cafe. It's Carlton, there are about 500 othersresponse / report this review -

They have amazing desserts and coffee. Best thing is their presentation and customer service. When you enter it seems like you're entering a bakery heaven that's perfect if you've sweet tooth

It's more than a good Cafe, it's a genuinely interesting & colourful Italian experience in heart of Carlton. Great sweets, pasta and pizza, all made fresh on-site, pizza in a wood fired oven. Legitimately good coffee, but for my tastes my flat white could have benefited from a second shot. I didn't tell them, so it's not their issue.

Amazing place! The first thing someone thinks​ when enters, is that the place is huge and because of this, you cannot help thinking how the food will be. Then, you check for your satisfaction that everything is good and well prepared. The pasta is prepared directly by their own and pizzas are baked in a wood oven. The patisserie is also incredible, looks nice and tastes even better. The best part is the coffee, reminded me the original​ Italian coffee. You can visit at all times of the day, even you just want to take a coffee or a cup. We didn't taste ice creams but they looked pretty good as well.

Great vibe. Pastries are nice without being amazing. See to taste of citrus. Nice place to come with tourists and visitors to Melbourne.

A fairly nice traditional Italian cafe for guilty pleasure. Decent coffee, pretty nice and relatively cheap ice-cream. My favourite dessert here is Rum Baba :) Nothing much to comment on their main course, I think they are edible.

Great cakes. Always busy, particularly at this location. You do have to wait for your own drinks and it can be hard to see the whole selection in the cabinet because there is always a line. But.. it's good so everyone comes back.

A great Melbourne experience - must visit if you are a tourist. The crowd can be a bit overwhelming but the 'new' premise is a site to behold with plenty of space. The cakes and pastries are delicious and a beautiful feast for the eyes. They also do savoury food, pizzas and gelato. I don't drink coffee but it's popular here.

We always come here for a sweet post dinner snack whenever down on Lygon st. The cakes are delicious, and that's it. That's the allure. Everything else is a "eff you! We don't do service! We do cakes!" There is never a seat or table, there is no table service, there is barely polite service when buying cakes, there is a hot drink self collection. They've realised that the can make such nice sweets they've dropped every aspect of customer service and customer comfort. It's a production house for handing out cakes for inflated prices. But we will come back, like a crack addict for sweets, back to hand over our cash and to sit in a corner on the cold floor getting our hit.
