One of our favorite places to visit as a family. Always busy & full of lovely artworks! Truly worth a visit. Its family friendly even with a toddler running around. Huge spaces!

Gorgeous, historic building. Marvelous place to spend an afternoon. They have an extensive varied permanent collection including a LARGE collection of aboriginal art. They have gorgeous temporary exhibits. My favorite exhibit here was several years ago when they had some of the Terracotta Warriors from China.

Went to a great exhibit and talk by disabled artists called Emerge. So nice to c us disabled folk being included. The accessibility has improved from years back

I've been to this place a lot of times. It's generally a nice art gallery, pretty pictures and interesting exhibits. I like the Japanese section downstairs, but it's rarely updated. There is also a half decent cafeteria, but nothing to write home about.

With free entry, this is absolutely a must visit for anyone coming to Sydney.

Had a perfect day at the Gallery today, celebrating a friend's 83rd birthday. Rembrandt & the Dutch Golden Age .exhibition has transported us into the world of the 17th century Dutch Republic
We enjoyed light lunch at the Cafe at the Gallery and admired the little veggie patch
I would love to join the Wednesday drawing workshop holding a glass of wine in one hand and a pencil in the other. I saw a TV documentary on similar very successful art workshops in US
Lots of fun in a relaxed atmosphere.

Great place to view artwork. The food in the restaurant is very good and the service excellent. Great place to unwind and if you have company even better. I was on my own still good the waitress very polite and helpful.

Sydney and Melbourne share at least one thing in common. Amazing venues for the arts. In Melbourne's case it's the natural history type of building. For Sydney it's a gorgeous art museum with an amazing insider and out.

This was our second or third visit to one of our favourite galleries. The art collection is magnificent, containing Australian and European art. As a European I can 'fill in the gaps' in my knowledge. The restaurant is good, with outdoor, rooftop, seating as well as indoor. There is a good gift shop and the gallery is en route to another of our favourites, the Botanical Gardens.

Wonderful place to spend a few hours at! A good collection of art from around the globe. Wide spaces and seats within gallery rooms for visitors to sit and view the art work. The gift shop has a good selection of items for sale.

The gallery has different wings for different flavors, which are free, e.g. European Victorian, Asian, Aboriginal, Australian, Modern and Contemporary. They also have paid exhibitions. Bags and backpacks are left in the entrance wardrobe for free. The temperature inside is always good as to protect the artwork. So it's recommended on cold or really warm days.

I love this gallery especially the contemporary art section. The entrance is free & they do change the collections every now & then. Best way is to take train to Martin Place, go through the hospital and walk across the Domain.

I love this gallery. The exhibitions they have are constantly changing. There's always something new to see. They have a great range of free stuff to see. There are also ticketed exhibitions too. Great for locals and international visitors. Wide range of modern and classic art.

Beautiful collection of Australian art with free admission! Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. We also took part in a free tour, which run hourly, and was very informative. An excellent rainy day activity!

A place for classical, modern and contemporary art, from some local home gown artists, to the most important world artists. A short walk from the heart of Sydney along Art Gallery Rd, next to the Domain, and the Botanical Gardens, with views to the Opera house & the Sydney Harbour Bridge. A great way to spend an afternoon.

One of the best places in Sydney. Beautiful paintings from historic to contemporary era. Modern abstract paintings and Japanese art add an extra feather. With a cafe and restaurant which got quick snacks, coffee and quality lunch it is a perfect place to spend a day. Definitely a go for art lovers.
