I found the tour to be insightful & educational on the history of the asylum. Tour guide Phil & Graeme were delightful & more than happy to answer any questions. I would've liked to hear more stories about how patients were treated, but bought the books which is quiet detailed.
Thanks for your guys
I booked some tickets for my friends including myself and then the same night when we went there, they pretty much had closed the door without any reasons. We called the guide supervisor and let politely that we are at the premise and we are ready to go. He was very rude and denied to let us go in and he said it is because we are supposed to come 15 min earlier. However we came 5 min earlier and it is unfair to cancel the whole trip because of that 5 min. We are pretty much on time though. Then, I askes for a refund but he straightaway denied it. We keep humbley requested the money back or else ask the guide to take is with them. He refused every time and become very rude. All I can say is this place is a SCAM place. Please do your own research before you decide to go such place.
Don't make your way up there, unless you really wanna let them steal your money. Also, they deliberately convince you to pay you first and then avoid you when you arrive there. Plus, they don't have a refundable policy so that you literally speechless when you ask for a refund. This is another scam, beware of it.
This is one of the god damn Scam places ever. They charge you money and then when you go there, they shut the door and you cannot do pretty much anything. They are pretty rude people and they don't even willing to refund money for the lost tour. Extremely disgusting customer service. Don't go unless you really wanna wast your money.
Awesome fabulous ghostly tour very interesting and lots of fun and Mr Keating our tour guide was amazing he made it a night to remember , fabulous experience we will be back and recommend it to everyone to go and enjoy
Amazing experience! I was not there for the ghosts and the scares; I was there for the history and the stories in the place, and the guide sure delivered on the amazing stories that happened here. She acted out the role of a creepy goth with a devil may care attitude, and it was really fun.
Definitely a recommend.
Did the two hour ghost tour at 8:30. It's more of a history tour than a real ghost tour, but I enjoyed it. A few big scares such as screams, loud bangs on tables from the tour guide.
Make sure you wear warm clothes in winter (ie. beanie, warm jacket with a hood, warm socks, and comfy shoes) because you do a fair bit of walking around. My toes and hands were absolutely freezing throughout the tour and made the experience much less enjoyable.
It would be nice if when you booked they told you to wear warm clothes and that there'd be a lot of walking.
It was raining with lots of thunder when we had our tour and we got soaking wet. The thunder came at really awesome times though. I will add there's a few slippery hills to walk up depending on the weather and the way the tour guide takes you.
We did the 6 hour paranormal investigation tour, the place is amazing, very spooky, the tour guide was good but may be a little information on some of the people that stayed there would have been good.. But overall the tour was good. However I did find the website for the tour a bit miss leading, in the website it's states you get a 30 minute tea and coffee break with biscuits half way through the tour, this did not happen and when I ask if we get tea or coffee, the tour guide just laughed at me and said no, but when I told him it stated we did on the website and then I showed him this he soon changed his attitude and said oh we haven't done that for 2 years now. If we had of known this we would have supplied ourselves with proper refreshments and food knowing we would have been doing a 6 hour tour, instead we were left with nothing to drink not even water was available. Also not all of the equipment that was stated on the website we didn't even see or use. For $150 tour I would expect it to be a top quality tour and if the website states certain item or things supplied, I'd expect them to be there. I've done quite a few paranormal tours and never paid as much as I have this tour and they were far better and cheaper than this one and not miss leading as this one was. You need to update your website!
Awesome go and do the tour you will love it I feel sorry for people that were there many years ago
Awesome ghost tour. Went on the 2 hour but wish I went on the longer one!
The peak of the two hours tour was when one volunteer was put in the morgue fridge and stayed there all the time the guide was telling about the morgue. It's mostly about the age and use of the deserted buildings, not much about how the patient's were treated, quite impersonal then. Interesting though about the self-sufficiency with meat, bread etc
The guides are retired volunteers so it's no professional touch of the tour. No special exhibition. So there is lots and lots of possibility to develop this tour!
Most amazing experience of my life, so worth the 10 hour drive from Sydney!
Would like smaller groups, but was interesting and had fun all the same.
