Upon arriving at "Ancient Art", which advertises a traditional Chinese massage service, I was surprised to discover that I would be massaged by an ancient, white man of enormous stature. He emerged from a rear door, wearing dusty business attire, looking spectacularly unfit for the role. I chose to give him the benefit of the doubt, and this choice was rewarded in the usual fashion. The massage was stunningly poor. His shaky hands generated very little pressure (despite me requesting more) and the massage followed no known traditions whatsoever.

When I asked about his experience, he revealed he is one of the business partners, which suggested to me that he was pulled into service due to careless overbooking of the actual staff. One certainly hopes he is not regularly providing this service to other people. He manipulated my back in ways that imply total unfamiliarity with human anatomy. At the end, he used paper rather than a towel to wipe away the oil, leaving a good slick of oil across my neck and hairline, which I enjoyed for the remainder of the day.

When I say to you it was the worst massage I have ever received, note that I am including amateur efforts in this comparison. It is the only time I have ever requested a massage end early. I walked in with a spring in my step, I walked out dejected and with a dull ache in both my shoulder blades.

Located in the city centre, a great place to go after a busy morning or day. Wonderful and very relaxing atmosphere. Walked in rather tired and walked out much refreshed.

Went yesterday and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was very relaxing and the staff were not only very kind but also very good at what they do! I will definitely have to come back again!
