Comfortable, in the center of a lot to do in Innsbruck, friendly staff, great food (breakfast rocks), and a good price.

Backstory: after a whole day of travelling, we decided to try this place since it had been rated quite highly on TripAdvisor.
Big mistake. Food was undercooked- the steak was definitely rare, bordering on blue and stringy. When we told the waiter it was undercooked for our liking, he challenged us out loud claiming that it was "Austria medium rare (HUH?! Googled and no such thing btw)" in front of the whole restaurant by raising his voice, which was humiliating. A customer, who is paying his hard earned money, should NEVER be made to feel that way. He even whipped out his iphone to show that our beef was cooked medium rare (it obviously looked nothing like the photos on Google, big surprise).
Then, the manager came and continued to argue with us in front of the whole restaurant. She was extremely hostile even though all we wanted by this point was some sincerity in the service, she did not care at all about how badly her staff had treated us. By this point we were so disgusted we didn't finish our food, and asked to cancel our beef instead of having it grilled further (who knows what they'll do in the kitchen with it the horror).
Get this- the manager verbally agreed to our cancellation, but proceeded to charge us anyway for a whole uneaten steak because "that's what cancellation" means in Austria. The cheek!!! I dare say they wouldn't have treated the non-Asian customers that way (judging from the trip advisor reviews, it seems the poor service has mostly been targeted at Asians. I do hate to make this about colour but.)
Dear Austria, we've met some lovely people here and I'm sorry that you've people like those in this rotten place tarnishing and using your name in vain. Bonus: they included the tip in the check, without any embarrassment whatsoever.
Spoke to another waiter at another restaurant in Innsbruck about our horrifying experience and he laughed and said the place was bad and unpopular with locals. I think that speaks plenty.
Spare yourself the pain, and eat somewhere else. You deserve better for your holiday and hard earned money.response / report this review -

Nice restaurant, the wild meat dish I had was excelent. The atmosphere was cosy and there was no rush.

You'd be mistaken for thinking this is a 'tourist trap' restaurant- it's not! Beautiful meals had by all. The service was top notch from 3 different waiters. Other people on other tables also commented on how well their meals were. Prices are reasonable also. Definitely recommended for excellent food!
