did not stay but visited the restaurant. The design is rustic, using a lots of wood. The zaulner soup is just perfect for the cold weather. ordered green noodle with fish as "small dish" but it's not small at all. the draught beer was standard but the nickonfel dessert was surprising. service was a little slower during peak hours.

The rooms were tidy. A little too rustic for my liking. The view of the town and of Salzkammergut Lake from the room was lovely. The hotel was in a great location for walking the little town. The breakfast was decent, repetitive daily. The front desk staff were not accessible or friendly. The restaurant connected to the hotel was pricey but the food was good. Note: there is no after hours check in. and Parking is challenging. Parking is only in public parking and have to take a shuttle or a taxi to and from the hotel. Note: the town vendors: restaurants and shops only take cash. No credit cards.

Nice hotel, comfy room and bathroom. Great lake and mountain views from balcony.
Disappointed breakfast not included in the rather high price. No safe or mini bar.
Sold and booked as Adults Only but noisy Asian family next room with 2 children plus noisy kids runny around upstairs. Spoilt the ambiance of this beautiful town.

Terrible service and they forgot half our order. Felt like we were invisible. When the food did come it was fine and nice to have a fish from the lake.

We were told to pick our seat which we did. It took them around 15 minutes to get the menus to us when they didn't even ask us if we wanted any drinks. We had to ask to be served. No apologies or acknowledgement that they were in the wrong. I understand if this is the case when your restaurant is busy but the place is empty. The customer service here was absolutely awful. We ordered 2 soups as a starter and they only delivered one of them. We had to ask for the second soup to be brought to us. By the time they brought it my partner had finished his soup already. Again, no acknowledgement about them messing up. When they finally brought the soup it was luke warm and had lumps in it. Maybe that is what this soup is suppose to be like but I did not enjoy it. When the waiter realised, he didn't ask what was wrong with it or offered not to charge us for the soup.

Service was very disappointing and there is no way I would recommend this place to anyone.

Price is high. Waiters are efficient and serving fast. Not recommeding fish wine if you don't like sweet wine. Grilled fish dishes are not very special just grilled and it has small bones , be careful!

I will say it's a bit overpriced. I booked a lake view room but there's another house right in front my window, I can't really see the lake at all. This is not what I expected for the room with this price. But besides that, the room was nice and the staffs were nice.

We had lunch here - full course of grilled-trout from Hallstatt Lake with soup and dessert. Great meal and helpful staff.

For the restaurant only: Went there for dinner. Staff is too sassy and way too slow. It felt like they had to send out someone to lake Hallstatt. We waited almost an hour for the food. The food was okayish but too expensive for it's quality. There is a hidden cover charge of 1,90€ per person which is not mentioned before. A big faux pas for a Feinkost, i.e. fine food is to serve the wrong cutlery with the fish what happened here. I would not go here again unless they remove the cover charge, exchange the staff and halve their prices or serve adequate food.

This was one of the best experience in a hotel we had in Austria. Hallstatt is an amazing little town and this hotel made it even better.

First thing you need to know is that this hotel is very modern, and it complements marvelously the charm of Hallstatt. Rooms are nothing but almost new. Showers are amazing, the beds are huge. The staff is friendly and smiling. Our stay at this hotel augmented or experience of Hallstatt in general.

Know that if your breakfast is not included with your room, you can have it there for 10€ which is probably cheaper than if you go eat outside.

Also, if it's hot outside, your room might be hot and it would be a good idea to ask for a fan when you proceed to the reservation.

Also, the staff there will go out of their way if needed. I forgot something in my room there and they shipped it to my next hotel as soon as they could.

Charming hotel on the square in Hallstatt. The hotel was recently renovated following some damage, and the rooms are nice and tidy. Rooms on the third floor generally have a good view of the square or lake, though your mileage may vary based on which particular room you can get. These rooms also include a balcony and covered porch, which is perfect for watching a storm blow in (if you happen to be unlucky enough to visit in the rain). Highly recommended.
