Nice environment and really good staff. The portions where good butnot too much variety. The main dishes were too expensive compared with other german restaurant one block away. There was no access for handicapped people or with babies and trolleys.

The upper floors offer a view of the river, in historic ambience. Prices are reasonable, food was excellent, Austrian Merlot was smooth and pared well with the fish special.

Excellent! Friendly, professional staff, excellent food, a historic place with a first-rate view of Mozart's birthplace just meters from the open window. This is a restaurant to remember and treasure.

Cheap and sleazy bread and butter and "mistake" drink scam on your receipt.
The restaurant is situated at an ideal location, right in front of the Mozart's house, in an open and airy platz.
Their food was decent as we were quite content with the ambiance as the location was thoroughly delightful and the service was pleasant.
However, the utter and shocking disappointment came about after the meal, on our walk back to the hotel, as my wife wanted to check the receipt as she found it to be bit pricey for what we've had. Sure enough, we've discovered a drink we did not have for 5.20, and 2 orders of whatever it was for 3.80 which we couldn't figure out.
So, I've returned to the restaurant and after speaking with the manager, found out that without our request, they gave us two orders of bread and butter (it was 5 pieces of baguette like bread and cream cheese like butter) which we took for granted as being free of charge as in most restaurants, but was charged 3.80 euros, and a drink we didn't have, which they mentioned was a mistake.
I've heard of tourist trap restaurants ripping people off in Salzburg, but didn't think I would run into it until it smacked me in my face with such a sleazy bread and butter and a "mistake" drink charge scam.
Watch out and make sure to look over your receipt despite being distracted by the surrounding view.response / report this review -

Terrible attitude from the lady serving today. As travellers, we know how it is when you are running out of battery; ordered a drink and kindly asked to charge my phone; she replied: if you can find one.. you are working in this restaurant, do you expect me to know it better than you!? Woho, there are plenty of other places around, this one is simply not worth it.
