Wow.we visited from the USA and had an opportunity to eat at many of the restaurants in the Salzburg area. We were there on 16.09.2017 and absolutely loved our meal. Our waiter was very friendly and spoke very good English and we did not feel like we guessed at what we were ordering. We had the Wurstlteller and Spinatknodel..the BEST meal we had in our two week visit in all of Germany and Austria! Deserves 5 stars! Would love to have the recipe for the Spinatknodel, if you could share.

Good food. Good view. TERRIBLE service!!!

Waiter was very rude and the restaurant charged a 4.50€ service fee per person that was undeserved.
Avoid at all costs!

Very slow service. You have to wait a lot! We saw the served dishes for a long time and no waitress picked them up. When we asked for an explanation. No response. Nice view.

The waiters absolutely did not care about serving.. we ordered an ice cream which did not arrive for 15 minutes.. when we asked one of them to check he responded very rudely and didn't even go inside the kitchen to check. The other waiter came with the bill charging us for two coffees when we ordered only one. When we corrected him he rudely tore the bill and walked away. Not sure what the reason is for such discourteous behavior. Would strongly advise people to stay away if you don't want to spoil your mood. Our experience with Austrians till that time had been amazing and found them such amazing hosts and friendly.

The food was excellent - not as pricey as you'd expect as it has little competition. The food and views were more than worth the premium.
There was a children's menu, fairly priced.
The service was efficient and friendly.
My only complaint is that there were a lot of wasps and didn't see any wasp traps which may have elevated the problem. It was a very hot day so perhaps this isn't usual.

It has been the worst experiencie we have had abroad. We ordered something twice and the waiter yelled at us excessively also twice because we didn't understand each other. Then, we were smoking and we had no ash-tray, so we use a little plate; he came and asked us if we weren't able to ask for one Definitelly, the worst way to treat a customer.

So eine schlechte Bedienung haben wir noch nicht gesehen. Die Aussicht ist richtig sehr schon, aber alles anderes war furchtbar: Unhofliche Kellner, scmutzige Tische und Beschteck. Wir setzen schon am Tisch und bis unseres Gericht kommt, der Kellner kommt und ohne fragen nimmt unseres Besteck weg und liegt auf anderem Tisch. Dann kommt unseres Gericht und nur nach dem fragen der Kellner bringt sehr unhofflich unseres Besteck. Aber was war das furchtbarste, wir haben einen Betrug getroffen. Der Kellner hat bei eigenen Initative ein Teller mit 4 Brezen gebracht bis unseres Essen kommt und ohne was zu sagen ist weggegangen. Wir waren sicher, dass es ein Geschenk war. Und am Ende sehen wir in der Rechnung extra 8 euro fur Brezen!!!! Ich habe gesagt, dass wir haben sie nicht bestellt und wenn es kein Geschenk ist, sie mussten vorher sagen, dass wir bezahlen mussten und die Antwort war, dass sie immer liegen Brezen auf dem Tisch, wenn die Kunden essen, sie mussen bezahlen. Dass war total Unsinn. Leider werden wir niemals dieses restaurant in Zukunft besuchen.

We have never met such a bad service. The only nice thing in this Restaurant was the view, all other things were terrible: Unpolite waiters, dirty tables and cutlary. We were sitting on the table and waiting for our dishes and the waiter came and without asking took our cutlery and put on others’ table, than came our dishes and only after asking the waiter brought for us cutlery in unpolite manner. But the most terrible is that they cheated us: The waiter by his own initiative brought a plate with 4 Brezen and went away without saying anyting. And then in the end we sea extra 8 euro for Brezen. I have told that we have not ordered them and if they are no gift why they didn’s say beforehand that we had to pay. And the answer is, that they always put them on the table and of the customers eat them thay have to pay!!! If we didn’t eat we didn’t have to pay!!! Total nonsence. I would never recommend this restaurant!!!

One waiter covering over half of the tables but wasn't even outside watching the tables. He would disappear inside for 5-10 minutes. No one brought over a menu, so we had to do it ourselves. Then, took another 10 minutes of continuously waving our hands before he came over. The prosecco ordered was warm. Then, took another 10-15 minutes to find him for the bill. When we paid in cash the exact amount, he then looked at us and said, "normally tip is not included in the bill in Austria." We were stunned and would definitely have given a tip if there was any level of service.

A strange eating experience. The cooking is completely unremarkable, standard Austrian food, neither well, nor badly executed: you will have an opportunity to eat your Wienerschnitzel. A positive point: the kid menus came with a salad. But the service was unique. Our waiter was dressed in a typical tyrolian dress, which is not unusual, but otherwise looked and acted like a rock star. A huge and athletic guy with a rockabilly hairstyle, he sighed and frowned menacingly every time he was asked for anything. He corrected us when we were ordering too fast or too slowly, apparently struggling with the tablet computer he used to take the order.

Soon after we ordered, twelve teenagers entered the room, two at a time over a period of ten minutes, and started moving chairs around to sit together. When they were over with it, two other tables did not have any chair left any more. Together, I think they ordered a total of one hot chocolate, a piece of Sachertochte, and two coffees. At the same time, other groups of guests, arrived later, were standing next to their chair-less table, waiting for a way to get seated. This was not meant to be, and they left, angry, before their problem had been solved. The teenager were later asked out, and the waiters proceeded to rearranging the chairs to their initial place. During all this time, a baby was crying in the room. I would not recommend the place to people looking for a calm place to eat.

The view on Salzburg is indeed beautiful, but please be warned that the dining hall does not look half as good as it appears on the pictures provided by the owner.
