Have a drink outside. Fantastic view of the city. Service OK. However the waitress was kind enough to give us two tickets to take the lift down to the street level.

We went to the restaurant because of the recommendation from Lonely Planet, but it really disappointed me and my friend a lot.
The food we ordered is not very delicious, but more importantly is the slow service. We waited for our meal for more than 20min even other tables after us had already been given their food. We told the waitress that we were going to catch the train afterwards, but we waited for a long time(more than 5min) to make the payment.

Lovely food and lovely views. Alas the waiter was dreadful- waited for wine, asked for desert me us and had to get it myself . We would have had desert but decided against it. He Went missing and then was snooty when i didnt tip. Happy to tip good service but he let the whole team down.

We wanted a nice view of Salzburg for our final lunch in the region. Immediately upon entering the restaurant we felt judged and unwelcome. We were dressed casually, but appropriately, yet we still felt like the maitre d was looking down on us. Instead of a beautiful lunch at the museum (which we enjoyed visiting), we received poor service from a maitre d in an ill fitting grey suit. Also, we felt the lunch was overpriced for the quality. Although I would recommend the apricot juice. Do not recommend this overly pretentious place. Go to the museum, catch a glimpse of the view and find lunch elsewhere.

Went to the restaurant for drinks in the evening. Wonderful view of the city from the terrace and not very busy. Drinks were a fair price but food was very expensive. Staff were exceedingly unfriendly.
After starting our first round of drinks the waitress came to our table and shoved a bill between us while we were talking. We had at no point asked for a bill or suggested we had finished, and were actually intending to stay longer for more drinks to see the city at night. Many of us still had plenty left in our glasses and were clearly still drinking them.
After being "asked" to pay we felt extremely unwelcome. The attitude of the waitress implied that we did not deserve to be there and I have never been treated so rudely at any other establishment.
Our decision to leave was confirmed to be correct after a mouse ran past our table. I appreciate that a location near a wooded area may have wildlife, but none of the staff made any attempt to remove the mouse or even acknowledge it, despite several guests quite visibly moving tables to avoid it.
Overall I would not recommend this restaurant. The views are gorgeous from the public walkways in the surrounding area, which are most certainly less likely to expect you to leave.response / report this review -

One can get amazing views of Salzburg from this restaurant. Accessible either by a short hike up a hill or an elevator.
Tip: If you dine at the restaurant, make sure to ask the waiter for a free elevator ticket back down.response / report this review
