Beautiful place,nature and really nice and clean hotel. Family Vötterl is really friendly. I'm booking this hotel every year. Some rooms are already renovated and really beautiful. Also the view from some rooms is very nice. Food is very good. Staff is very friendly. I love this place!

Great food, good room, great food , wonderful views, really great restaurant with, wait for it, great food. Anything with the mushrooms in gravy will make your mouth a very happy place indeed.

Rooms were basic clean and comfy. Location was just what we needed. Service was polite and had a nice relaxing stay.

The hotel's right next to a square with a temple and a fountain. There is a nice view to the mountains and the border is real close. Friendly staff, wide choice for breakfast.

Overall a fine hotel at an interesting location, a few meters from German border. I didn't know much about the town when making reservation, but later learned that the town Grossgmain gives the name of a painter whose painting of St Jerome (at Thyssen-Bornemisza museum in Madrid) was my favourite. The church across the hotel contains important paintings of the painter.
One complaint is that they gave us an attic room which may be somewhat smaller than ordinary rooms. This was not stated in my reservation. The room was smaller than many other hotel rooms in my trip of Austria & Germany.
