Hotel Das Tigra is a quiet sophisticated retreat, located near the heart of the city of Vienna. The rooms are styled in voque of Mozart's, spacious and comfortable with rooms looking out onto the classic Vien street scape. The hotel provides all necessary amenities expected of a modern facility.

This hotel is exceptional. Has a great location and very accommodating staff. If you need anything at all ask for Mr. Angerer at the reception, he was simply the best!

There are several reasons that I am giving this hotel 5 stars - While the hotel is not necessarily what you call a "four star" hotel, the combination of quality, price, location and staff are exceptional. I was there for a three day weekend and due to some construction that is currently taking place across the street, all drinks in the hotel bar were discounted 50%. While taking a couple of breaks from sight-seeing our little group congregated in the small but cozy lobby and bar area and were treated to exceptional service by the staff - I mean exceptional - very attentive and quick to make perfect recommendations for wine and dinner. On the one evening that we were too exhausted to get out the door for a late dinner, the front desk arranged a fantastic meal of delivery. Our group were provided with European electrical adapters for our appliances and room needs were addressed quickly (extra towels, soap, etc.)
Due to the season we booked a room combination that included breakfast and that was exceptional. Incredible fresh pastries and an array of eggs, sausages, bacon and awesome cheeses. At the current exchange rate though, even 20 euros would have been affordable.
The rooms are well appointed although a bit smaller than they seem in the pictures. All in all, I can't say enough good things about the experience.
My only criticism of the place is that the internet was a little spotty at times, but more than adequate to watch Netflix during down times.
You should expect traditional European bedding: Fitted sheet along with a duvet with a duvet cover - that's it, although additional blankets are available. I was reading one of the other reviews where someone did not understand that the fabric of the end of the bed is for decor, thinking that it was a blanket.
One last comment I would share with any potential traveler to Europe - no matter how tired you are, be polite with the front desk of hotels and restaurants and you will get better service.response / report this review
