very beautiful hotel!
Stayed here for 5 nights in early March of 2016. Overall, the hotel is very nice. Rooms have beautiful balconies, are pretty spacious, have nice storage closets to put your ski clothes in. Spa facilities are extremely nice, with the exception that the ice room as well as the steam room were not working. Saunas were hot and overall, the entire hotel was very clean. Breakfast was lovely, with a lot of choices, but could have offered some variety throughout the days as over the course of 5 days, we became somewhat tired of what was offered. Additionally, the hotel is close to town - 7 minutes drive away. While it was a nice stay, I do have some criticisms (hence, the 4 star rating). The room we booked was a king bed, but what we actually found was two twin beds pushed together. It made for a rather uncomfortable sleeping experience. Additionally, the worst part about the hotel was the Ski Rental Shop. Staff was extremely rude and unfriendly. I tried to explain that my boots were way too tight (to the point the circulation was being cut off), the girl seemed more amused and insisted that's the way the boots were supposed to fit. I said that while I was a 'beginner' skier, I did own my own boots - and have gone enough times to know better. We paid on our credit card for one day and they told us if we wanted it for a second day to let them know. We decided to go skiing for only one day, and returned the boots to their 'boot room'. Two days later, we walked in to rent snow shoes. She asked us if we had used the ski's for the second day. I said no, we would have re-rented them, if we were going to. Nothing was discussed further, we rented the snow shoes and left and returned them at the end of the day. Long story short, upon check-out, we noticed a 100 euro charge to our bill for our stay from the ski shop. Apparently they tried to charge us for the second day. I immediately walked into the ski shop to show them the receipt that we paid for one day on our credit card, and that we did not rent the boots for a second day - the man in the shop did not want to hear it and immediately told me to quiet down my voice. (It wasn't loud what so ever - but I did want to fully explain that he was in the wrong). He didn't want to hear it, and started shaking his head at me, was extremely rude. Long story short - they deducted it off of the bill, but he wouldn't even look at me and was extremely rude and angry. My advice, is Grand Tirolia is wonderful, but I wold rent the ski equipment in town - there are other shops also of the "Ski 2000" family right in town, and from what I hear, you can also save more money renting in town; and you can avoid the rude staff.
Very good
