A really hard to find place especially in the night and during rains. No directions are given whatsoever. Rooms are very cramped. Sockets are placed in such a way that they can never be used with a travel adapter. Free breakfast is just very basic. Would not recommend if you are traveling and want to stay at an easily accessible place. Others might say that the view from the mountain is stunning but I ended up wasting a lot of time trying to reach this place.

Traditional Austrian food, very good and tasty plus you get a nice view over the city of Salzburg. Hiking or biking up the mountain both is possible, like that place.

Great views on the old town. A nice budget option for staying in Salzburg.

Probably the best apfel strudel with warm vanilla sauce, on the planet. Outdoor seating overlooks the city. Competent, friendly staff.

The view and the location are really good points and some of the staff were friendly, however reception wasn't really somewhere and nobody came to us when we arrive plus I found it a lil bit dirty not so say too dirty, a bit of improvement could be done in my opinion. I give it a "okay" as I'm not too picky neither

Amazing views. Quite small bedrooms. There was no possibility to come with the car so we had to walk with the luggage for 10 min.
Breakfast was very very poor: just a bit of cheese and ham with some old bread.
Restaurant has no big offer and we could not stay a bit longer although we were celebrating a 30 birthday party and we had said it before.

Not only did all my clothes smell like the kitchen itself since the kitchen door is opened at all times letting all the smell go through the whole house, but I also found and killed a massive BED BUG!!! I am covered in itchy bites all over my body after only 2 nights at that disgusting hole! Also I would NOT bring kids with me overnight since the corners of the room were full of black mold.
    NOT RECOMMENDABLE!!!

Beautiful views and good food, don't you dare to sleep there though, the walls are covered with mould and the mattresses full with bedbugs. I have killed some on spot but not enough as now that I am back home I found out that more and more bites keep appearing all over my body. I just hope I didn't take any with me to my place

I do not know about the hostel, but I love to sit in the outside area of the restaurant and eat one of their traditional Austrian dishes, while enjoying the view on the city.

This place is adorable! Very well put together as far as looks and the beds were very comfortable. And the view!!!! It is AMAZING! If you don't stay here, come for a beer and/or food for the view.
That being said I really wanted to LOVE this place. Unfortunately the difficulty getting there (which they warn you about) and the complete lack of wifi and hours available make me give it a lower score. To us, the difficulty getting there (very steep hills, long walk) was very doable for the great location. But it is the only hostel I have been to where the WiFi just never worked properly. And the staff leaves early (when restaurant closes) so there was no help to be had.
Very clean though. Rooms are cramped but beds comfortable.
