  We ate at this restaurant on a Sunday night for the fairly good google reviews and its proximity to our hotel at Austria Trend and we were satisfied with our choice. We had the lamb shank, roast beef and the beef cheeks and all were excellent. Our waiter Georg gave us very good service and attention. Would definitely recommend this place.

  Terrific experience and professional service provided outstanding support for a first rate Austrian cuisine. Yes, there were tourists and travelers from the near-by train/bus central terminal - but they were all happy and many locals filled the tables, too. This place is a long time eatery, but for our money and appetites it is hard to beat! We will return and recommend Braurestaurant Imlauer to all.

  It was TERRIBLE.
  First, it took us 20MINUTES for the waiter to come and take our order. We were lucky that it only took 20minutes because if we hadn't called on the waiter several times and ignored few times by other waiters saying our table was not their charge, it would have taken longer. (Yes, it is sarcasm)
  Meanwhile, other waiters took orders from other tables that came later than us. When they were finished with their food and waiting for the dessert, we waited 45MINUTES for the food. Upset with the situation, we called waiters to get the manager, who FINALLY showed up after like 3 calls from us, holding our food. We told him that we had waited an hour, but the answer we heard was just unbelievable.
  "No, it's actually 45min.
  SO ARE U GOING TO EAT IT OR NOT?"
  We were so irritated. Yes, it's true we waited 45minutes instead of an hour. But was that the appropriate answer at that moment? Almost threatening us by asking are you going to eat it or not? It was our first restaurant in Salzburg and we are deeply disappointed.

  It was terrible. I don't know the taste. I came here 8:40 today evening. I waited 20 minutes to be taken order. And their food took 40 minutes to eat. I called manager what's going on here. The manager didn't apology and said we eat or not. So I went out. The manager and waiter's attitude are so ugly.

  Very nice restaurant with austrian specialities
  
  We went to this restaurant because it is attached to the Imlauer hotel. It features a good choice of Austrian specialities and a good choice of beer (Stiegl) the particularities of which were well explained. Staff was fast and very friendly. The food was excellent - we very much enjoyed in particular the Essigwurst and the Schweinsbraten. In the end we went there twice because it was all so good.

  We ended up here because it was raining really hard and it was close to our hotel but we were rewarded for our decision. Food was great. All the vegetables were very clean and fresh. Portion size was large. My dad, said he'd be willing to pay double and it would still be worth it. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive.

  We went there at 11pm, understanding that its closing time is midnight. A waitress asked us to take any table. Then an older looking waiter came over and coldly asked us "what do you want?". I asked for the menu. He refused saying there's no more food. He made no apology at all. He was just rude and was not interested in treating like customers. We left. Not coming back!

  I was sat by the hostess, where I remained seated for 20 min. No one ever came by. No one came to take my drink order nor did anyone at least come and say they'll be "right with me" or anything. I sat there watching as others got served and as waiters and waitresses pretty much stood around. I didn't understand.
  
  I didn't want to appear rude (as this was my first time in a forgien country) and ask for service; so I got up and left.
  
  I can't comment on the food as I didn't have any.
  
  I ended up going to my hotel room and order room service, which was quite good.
