  They asked us to leave / Nos pidieron que nos fuéramos
  
  It was the first time in my life that I was kicked out of a restaurant. I've been in hundreds and hundreds of restaurants around the world and the last Saturday Feb 24, 2018 was my first time.
  We arrived at 1 AM on Saturday. Me and my couple. Our purpose: to drink drafted cider and "pan dulce". The restaurant was almost empty. Only two tables with people (two couples). The place was almost silent, without music. Kind of depressive sensation. As soon as we sat, a waiter with a very serious face came with the bread. No, I told him, we just want the cider and "pan dulce". After he heard that his face changed from serious to angry. A minute later the manager, or the owner, came. And told us one of the weirdest things I ever heard in a restaurant: "If you don't order the dinner you can't order the dessert ("pan dulce"). - What???? The restaurant is empty! I told him. - Doesn't matter, the rules of the house say that if you don't order dinner you can't order dessert, so if you will not order dinner you will have to leave. I could not understand those ridiculous rules, especially in an empty the restaurant. We argued with the manager for a couple of minutes and we left. Sad and angry. I've been many times in Plaza Mayor before. Seems that the place is not what it used to be. And this was the last time because I will never come back again. I don't understand the nonsense. Instead I will continue going to Tancat (my favorite spanish restaurant in BA o el Burladero). While we left I remembered the quote "You think you are killing me, I think you are committing suicide"

  Have been there several times. I was happy to go again. Quality of food has gone down the tubes. Ordered Gambas al ajillo. Tasteless. Swimming in oil. It seemed to me that the cook took six small shrimps off the freezer and fried them in a pan. Complained to the waiter and he did not even offer to take them back. My wife's dish contained rise that appeared to be a reheated leftover from lunch time.
  Really disappointed. Quite expensive. I will not return.
  
  The sweet bread (pan dulce) they bake remains the best in town. Go and buy it as a standalone product. You won't regret it.

  It has a great fan following for the sweet bread which maybe a disadvantage because you need to stand in the queue to buy it. So if anyone is visiting Argentina, don't miss the chance of tasting it's bread (even if you are made to stand in the queue for hours)

  You should try King Crab Crebe and Dulce Pan(sweet bread)! Amazing food and service
