Stick with the basics: classic ceviche, classic sushi. All very well made. The more exotic dishes missed the mark.
Osaka is a must in Argentina. We didn't have reservation, but they kindly offered to sit at the bar. It is exactly the same as being at a table. The signature juices and alcohol beverages were spectacular. Food was tasty, umami and delicious. Not a single complaint. Flawless. Beautiful presented. If you are looking for good Japanese food, Osaka has to be considered. Portions are no big so it is better if you share different dishes. Prices are equivalent to location, neighborhood and quality.
The best sushi, Nikkei place in Buenos Aires
Pros: Great interior decor, little dark but overall the design is very intricate.
Cons: Our waiter seemed nice at first, but towards the end of the service for some reason felt the need to continuously remind us on four different occasions that "the tip is not included in the bill." Coming from the United States we're used to tipping, so I'm not sure why he felt the need to do that. Considering the food was already low quality (who puts grapefruit honey over rice?) and the service was terrible (1 hour for appetizers to come out, 2 hours for our main courses), this only added to our miserable night.
We had a great night at Osaka! The food goes beyond sushi. We have experienced some unique new tastes and beautiful served dishes. Local wines are super and not too expensive here. The food is not cheap but you get value for money. We experienced great services from the staff whom honestly guided us through the whole menu combining the right flavours and not just selling the expensive dishes and wines. You have to make a reservation upfront but Osaka is definitely worth the visit when you're in Buenos Aires!
Very pretentious, low quality food, and subpar service. When you are expected to pay as much as they request for a single sushi roll you expect it to be in relation to the quality of the food and effort but that is not the case here. Everything is absolutely over priced, about 3x to be exact in some cases. We had the tigger, such was good but the quality of it would have warranted half the price requested. It was good but not the best. The fish is masked heavily which is not desirable with sushi. We were also offered a sample that tasted just like canned tomatoes, not else but free would be justified. Our service was unnecessarily slow as we caught him mingling instead of ringing is up. Do not recommend unless stuffy is your style.
Best food.
Best experience.
Best service.
Best.
Full stop.
Great food, great service, great ambiance, though quite expensive.
Very expensive. But you will have to enjoy it in a distracting atmosphere
Sushi is super good. It is an expensive place. But it worthy. It will depends on how hungry you are. The more you eat, the most you pay. Everything here is good and exquisite
I first experienced Osaka in São Paulo. They take sushi and the asian food experience to a new level. The most amazing flavors. It is a culinary and spiritual experience you will not forget. Of all the restaurants in the world I have been to osaka is on my all time favorites list.
Lovely restaurant I think the Peruvian kitchen is stronger in the menu than the Japanese. Anyways is quite delicious. Highly recommend the tiraditos in white fish (nikei)
PS make a reservation!
I don't mind paying when I get above average experiences but 200 USD 2 pax was too much for this restaurant. Some of the dishes were great, others average. The waiters couldn't suggest Lousy service. Wouldn't go back.
I have been to many overpriced restaurants, but few come close to this in overpriceness. For example, at the time of this review, two nigiri salmon units were 200 ARS (13 USD or 42 BRL) – they were good considering their cuisine is not a traditional one, but way too far from justifying the price tag. Besides that, their Ozeki saké was a letdown, and they served an orange juice that was so bad that I couldn't even drink a quarter of it. The service was good, and the ambience would have been nice if I didn't have to deal with the strong smell of fish being grilled on other customers' tables from time to time.
good fusion Japanese fooddefinitely not Japanese Japanese foodso be wary of unexpected surprisestry the cevichethe sampler will get you a great selection and they were all great!
