Of all the #art museums the world over the N G A is #singular for her forward vision. Very much appreciated. Thankyou.
What a gem! This is a wonderful museum with very interesting and beautiful work. No abstract paintings, just realistic paintings of the history of Albania. Some propaganda and some depictions of normal Albanian life. I did not know any of the artists, but they can surely measure with international painters from the same period 1880-1970. It was very quiet in the museum. The entrance does not look to be open and the doors have mirrors, not very welcoming. But behind the doors is an unexpected wealth of nice art pieces.
The NAG lacked contemporary gallery lighting in windowless areas and aircon, so on a summer day the interior temperature was not exactly ideal. A major attraction is the collection of social realist paintings that translate into art the idea of the ‘New Man’ during the communist period, with the ‘common worker’ as the main recurrent personage. The special Qamil Grezda exhibition hosted by his son Emir saved the day, as the art on display offers not only samples of Mr. Grezda's talent but also insight into his creative and private life.
Nice gallery, interesting exhibitions, several at the same time.
Small but intensive exhibition, worth a visit.
No photos are allowed. It's a nice gallery however it's not air conditioned.
Nice selection of classic art and the temporary exhibit was really cool.
However, there is little to no context or descriptions available in English - There is a free app that is advertised to guide you through certain pieces, but the wifi doesn't work in the gallery. Also, the staff wasn't particularly helpful: The bathrooms weren't working(?) in the gallery and no suggestions were offered on where else might be available, they chatted rather loudly as we wandered the exhibits.
No photo allowed its not good
Check the socialism-realism art painting very attractive and unique

A place to visit!!
Love it! Just wish the opening hours weren't so random and constantly changing! Worth going round the back to see the giant communist era statues literally stored outside!
Great place to visit
National Arts Gallery brings together artists for artistic events
Nice place not anything special
Had some interestingly stereotypical communist art which shows Albania's history but would have liked have seen some modern curation too
Very interesting with pictures and monument from Communism times
The National Gallery preserves and conserves over 5000 artworks. Besides the permanent collection which is focused on Socialist Realism art, famous Albanian artists, international ones and important collections have been part of the different exhibitions in the NGA
