Not going to lie I was expecting a whole bunch of little bunkers covered in art but what I got was a wonderful trip through the past. Went end of April 30min before closing (I would recommend going earlier as it is huge) but was the only person inside the entire time. Very eerie but great experience.

Authentic nuclear bunker built into the side of the mountain. This bunker has been turned into a museum of Albania with most of the rooms full of information about life in Albania the 20th century, from the world wars through communism to the present day. Well worth an hour or so visit

I loved it, you can feed the atmosphere of the old times when Hodga was president. I woul like to from the inner desing and stuff from the bunker and less art. There was a lot of art in several rooms. I had the feeling that they had more space then idea how to fill it. But ot is definitely worth to visit and see it. I recommend it :)

i've learned a lot thanks to this museum about the years of the communist years of Albania. the museum itself is an old bunker for the prime minister and his first line during the years of dictatur. there are some real furniture of that time.

A place you must visit!
Historic museum of communism time in Albania.
It is a big bunker build in case of a nuclear war where it was thought to have almost all necessary services.
In all rooms you can find different objects and tools used by that time.

First a warning, the address is correct (Rruga Teki Selenica) but the marker is placed incorrectly on the map. The street is a bit to the North from the marker! (I suggested a change, so by he time you are reading it might be already corrected!) The bunker itself is inside the former military complex, see among the photographs the gate of it. When you arrive to the sign "MILITARY ZONE - ARMED GUARDED" you know that you arrived. It is absolutely amazing place! The bunker itself, the structure, and two apartments, for the president and the prime minister are the most interesting. The rest is also interesting, especially if you feel like learning about Albanian history from all sorts of artifacts and presentations.

Part museum, part art installation. The bunker itself was the most interesting part. Most exhibits are photos and documents. There are explanatory signs in English but most detailed documents are not translated. Free parking, 500 lek for normal ticket (200 extra for audio guide).

You should visit this interesting bunk/museum. Allows you to learn a history of Albenia. In the end you'll see that its worth it. Good experience.

The bunker museum is inside an hill, the temperature is constant about 16 celcius. The path explain the recent history of Albania where in every room you can understand a bit.

Definitely worth a visit if you're in Tirana. The parking is free and the ticket is only 500 lek or $4 so its very cheap. Also, what you get to experience for this price is well worth it. It was amazing exploring a nuclear bunker with old items and pictures scattered throughout.

It isn't the best thing to do in Tirana, maybe even Albania for no reason. I was expecting somethimg small but in the end it was worth every penny and every minute. There is a shop with merchandise (worth taking a look), a bar inside the bunker. In the summer going inside is just perfect, not too cold but definetly not hot. There are some interactive rooms in the bunker, most notable: the war experience and the simulation of mustard gas room. Every room has some history in it. There are also tours available.

It took us a long time to get to as the traffic was horrendous in Triana and when we arrived Google maps will take you to the active military base and not the bunker.
It is cheap to visit and interesting to see but there is information overload in the exhibition and if you read everything you will be there all day, most of it is history of Albania in general and about civil wars and leadership turmoils rather than about the bunker itself.
It's worth a visit if you are in Tirana but skip some of the rooms and head to the ones actually about the bunker. More information about Hoxah himself and the designs of the bunkers around the country would be much more interesting to tourists and what people are expecting to see.

A must go if you are in Tirana. By combining with Dajti Express Cable Car, you can spend a very good day. They also offer a ticket which includes Bunkart and Dajti Express return trip for 1100 Lek.

It is a massive bunker on five levels built for in case of a nuclear-attack. It is a good source of information for understanding the communist regime.

When going there, do not follow Google directions because the entrance from Teki Selenica St. is closed, the road ends with a military base entrance. Instead follow signs for Bunkart on the road. The entrance is located at 41.350176, 19.861539. The place has a car park.

I love visiting Albania twice a year
There are so many monuments and history
People not much heard of illyrians but Albanians are nation with the prove background of ancients Modern Europeans
There are also the best beaches in Europe with two seas Adriatik and Jon
Albanians also did save europe in 15ths centuries when Scanderbeg stop ottomans invading europe and there are so much more history and also clues left to see

The best tourist attraction in Tirana. Really cool to see inside a large nuclear bunker!!! Never seen inside one before. Only $5 Australian or around €3, super cheap!! Love the steel doors then thick concrete doors. Great to walk around the huge complex and see different things of the museum and they way a nuclear bunker is built. A must see in Tirana. Im glad its open fulltime now!!!
