Roman settlement during Augustus Ceasear period is presented in a national park setting. Good for a visit in the morning when less hot.

A great place to visit. Takes about 2 hours to get round with a tour guide. Take water as there is nowhere to buy any, wear decent walking shoes, and apply the mozzy repellent otherwise you’ll get eaten alive. Parts of the site are in the shade but it gets very hot so a hat and sunscreen are a must.

This place was really pretty. We had a lot of fun. Wear comfy shoes. Bring water, sunblock and a snack. There were also some very nice ladies selling fruit cups for 1 euro.

Beautiful area, the ruins from various cultures are worth seeing. The museum in the castle shows also many historic finds from different cultures.

Wonderful place with many beautifuf corners. The ruins of the church just fascinatig. Some parts of wall make incredible imagine. And the water around the Butrint simply fabulous.

The ruins at Butrint are well worth a visit. Not suitable for people with mobility issues though. There are some steep uneven climbs.

Lots of runs from several eras and excellent access to the ruins. While the paths are built up enough for tourists, there's not much keeping people off the artifacts.

Remains of Roman town built on an island, the tour takes you through wooded hillside getting higher with each boundary wall until finally reaching a renovated hill fort with lovely views and which contains a museum, the guided tour takes about three hours as there is so much to see, outside the main gate is a large cafe set in it's own gardens.

Really nice site to visit. It's really interesting. The place is well conserved considering the time it was built and the earthquake it resisted.
The view from the Acropole is gorgeous, you can see the triangle fortress from there : a must see.
There is also lots of shade which is good since it's usually very sunny.
The site is also stroller friendly (as long as it's a lightweight stroller).
Would definitely recommend it.

Butrinti National Park is one of the best places to visit in Albania. Make sure you have plenty of time since it takes quite a bit to see it all. Prices are different for locals and tourists (which is strange) since I've visited places before but the price is always the same for all!Make sure you have your water bottle with you and your camera. You will surely enjoy it if you have good walking shoes or string sandals because some if the pavements are really old! Enjoy it.. I really did!

Butrint is an archaeological site whose megalithic city walls date from 1000 BC. The city and it's setting emerge magically from the Lake and Mountains of Butrint National Park, and some say the city's founders were the descendants of Andromache, wife of Priam of Troy. Indeed the Trojan Gate entrance to the city evokes dreams of that great city before it fell to the Macedonians. After ten visits to Butrint, I have still not explored all of the site and it's national park, and each time I return, it is as if Troy is calling to me, working mysteriously to transport me back to an epoch of legend made true in Butrint.

One of the best history lesson you can get if you visit Albania.Don't hesitate to come to Butrint, as you can see one of the most amazing rise and fall of a Roman town during different ages.The view is also amazing, and at the end/beginning of the day you can take a bath in Ksamil which is 6-7 km away.

Fascinating to tour this ancient city. If you are in Albania definitely check it out! Admission is only $5 and there is a lot to see.
