Good hotel, well run, plenty of activities, nicely laid out, staff very friendly. Beaches great but not if you're a swimmer due to sea grass. Antigua is a lovely island with delightful people

Great place to stay! The staff are super friendly and do everything they can to make your stay as relaxing as possible. The food was good, first time staying in a villa style resort a little bit more walking to and from places but it's good exercise. Grounds are very well kept. Mini putt course is a nice touch, played it everyday. Only complaint would be the bed was very lumpy but sounds like it was just my room other people enjoyed theirs.

A very relaxing week! Loved the beaches, the food, and our hillside room was perfect for us. Verandah has lots of families with young kids. The adults-only pool was a nice spot to relax at, with lots of shade options. Free WiFi at the main pool wasn’t too fast, but enough for essentials. We ate at Nicole’s one night and really enjoyed it, and the buffet had great food options all week. A nice option we didn’t know about prior to arriving was the ability to get a free day and/or evening pass to the adults-only sister resort Pineapple Beach Club, where we spent some time on the beach and had lunch and dinner for no additional cost. Definitely would recommend Verandah!

So unhappy with this place. To start off, the food is terrible. Secondly, the kids club was destroyed during our stay; the outdoor portion was completely broken down. Thirdly, the bed was so uncomfortable—hard as a rock. Also, we had a suite and had to walk SO far to get to anything. Oh, almost forgot the front desk tried to scam us into saying they don’t take American Express (only bc theyre trying to avoid the fee the resort has to pay for AMEX) when our reservation was initially booked with American Express. The service from most of the waitstaff is also very lacking. We actually didn’t even complete our full stay here. We checked out early and moved to a different resort.

2nd time back. Was there 6 years prior. This time around very disappointed with the accommodations and food. Rooms need updating. More selections at buffet. We had cockroaches!!! Although they came to spray when we notified them, 3 rooms later and we never got a break. They were everywhere. Made our stay uncomfortable. Quite honestly we didn't get one decent night sleep. It was gross and made us paranoid. For what we paid it was not worth it. Too bad really because beach was beautiful and staff were lovely.

Very impressed by The Verandah - we took our whole family (3 kids, one of whom was a baby at the time) and though we had to navigate a few stairs with a stroller, it was very doable. Staff was attentive and food was great. They had many activities for the kids, as well as for adults. Wifi was a savior when I had to get a little work done. Would absolutely go back sometime and recommend to others.

Excellent in customer service. Friendly staff and excellent location for all. Single, family and couples. Very spacious and well laid out.
It offers day passes from 9:30am to 6pm. Take advantage if you visit the island on a cruise and use the facility. Unlimited food and drinks and non motorised water sports. Reasonably price.

The wonderful staff here are genuinely happy and warm. They really make this resort a great place to relax and enjoy. The food at The Verandah is also deserving of the 5 star rating. Stunning views and and so many sights to take in make this location my favourite resort to stay. Family friendly as well. Thank you so much to all the staff and the management team here at The Verandah! This is my second time staying and and will not be my last.

A Resort where everybody can find something for his pleasure. Watersports, Party, Relax, Beaches, and much more. Definitely a place to be. The Staff is really taking care of his guests, helps wherever is needed. The Food is great, different Restaurants with different kinds of Food for everybody. Thumbs up and many thanks for the nice vacation at your place.

Wonderful staff, good food, lively entertainment, beautiful rooms, and gorgeous setting. Perfect place to relax and unwind. Very family-oriented, but the adults-only pool is a great touch.

Amazing resort, everything is perfect. It has two small beaches and for those who like a bigger beach they can walk 2 minutes to the long bay beach of the resort. Not sure which island Mel Smith (the negative person) was reviewing but Antigens are the most friendly people I have ever met.

Superb family holiday, with 3 boys aged 21,18 and 14. As parents we had a fantastic holiday the staff were exceptional and those of us who wanted to be active were and those who wanted to chill did. The resort catered for us all. There were younger families at the resort and it was obvious they catered for all ages especially the very young at the kids club. Special mention to Action man who threw himself into his job. Both beaches were lovely and clean, the water sports very safe and free lessons for beginners, my 14yr old is now an accomplished sailor! Food was plentiful and a good selection every evening. It's not 5* but good staple food, the BBQ grill is worth booking for a change of location.

I am not sure which hotel the previous reviewer - Mel Smith - was staying at, but if her geography is as good as her grammar, she probably wasn't even on Antigua. I am at the Verandah now and there is no seaweed in the sea. We have been coming here on and off for the past 10 years, since the resort opened and have always found the staff to be exceptionally friendly - as are all Antigens. Most of the staff have been here since the resort opened and pride themselves on their friendly and courteous engagement. As regard the appalling implication that staff would steal anything from guests - in the 10 years since we have been coming here there have been no such reports. The food is great and varied, although the à la carte restaurants do have a dress code - which is maybe why Mel Smith wasn't able to taste the delights of all the restaurants.

Most of the staff is friendly but not all. The food choices were a huge disappointment compared to Mexico all inclusive Resorts. The man made beach is full of sea weed when you go in the water and be sure to lock up your possessions in the safe. Housekeeping likes to have sticky fingers and prying eyes. They come in even with a do not disturb sign. Smh. We will never go back to Antigua the people are the least friendly in ghetto Carib I have ever met. If you dive this island is off the bucket list.

Perfect spot to disappear for a week or two. You will be well taken care of, and the resort is kept immaculately clean, given the amount of traffic and food and drink that is served throughout the day. Very impressed with the extremely friendly and accommodating staff.

We attended a close friends wedding and stayed for a week. It's a perfect setting for a cosy wedding with beautiful views. The resort itself was nice with two sheltered beaches and friendly, laid back staff. It's doesn't quite get 5 stars because of the resigned service at times. Not a massive problem and we had a great time but consistent service with a smile would be nice.
