People are judged by the clothes they wear and color of skin. Very unusual in a cosmopolitan like Dubai. The manager there does not meet international standards.

very bad friday brunch. it was horrible.
first time i left friday brunch hungry.
they don’t have buffet table, they bring random foods to each table (the idea is nice) but it was not enough food at all. no main course or anything. dessert was only two kinds. also nothing tasty. poor paella. very big disappointment. never ever again.

This place has really gone down hill in terms of the food. The cocktails are still very good. We went back for brunch this friday and I can safely say this was the worst brunch experience I have had in my 8 years in Dubai. Only one of the tapas dishes had any real flavour and the food was either over cooked or cold by the time it made it to our table. The first glass of bubbles my wife had was full of flies. She didn't even get an apology. Won't be back ever again. What happened to this place?

As Spaniard I can say El Sur is one of the best Spanish restaurants (and contemporary) in UAE. A bit pricey but the food and the staff are amazing.

On New years eve we made the mistake of choosing this location as a venue to celebrate. Having lived in Dubai for 3 years now, I've become accustomed to paying premium pricing for good service and great food.

With no seating, and a really cramped environment, under the pretences that we will be enjoying a brunch like buffet, we arrived to a very underwhelming salami selectionand well, you had that, a selection of cheese or sea food paella (which in my case as someone who is allergic, I had cheese and salami as my options.)

Now let me start off by saying that paying AED850.00 per head surely entitles me as a patron to be treated with a certain level of decorumwell, upon my 3rd visit to the wine stand, having been at the venue for little over an hour and had eaten a few slices of salamiwhile having my drink topped up, the manager of the location says to memid froth of bubbleswaiting for the bubble to subside for me to get a glass serving from the bar tenderin the most condescending and patronising tone "you can come back for more Sir, it's free all night."

I joking said "thanks" in response at the time and walked away, but having had a few seconds to allow what just happened to digest, I felt having paid such a hefty price that this manager needs to consider the manner in which he treats his customers and so approached this individual, because it is not free..I have paid a lot of money to celebrate at your venue and your arrogant manner is simply uncalled for! The response was at this point was "Sir, there are other customers here, who need serving." As if I am at some sort of soup kitchen and that I was conducting myself with gluttonyhow dare you!I'd like to think that I have a certain level of restraint and can most certainly hold back!

Needless to say highly agitated at this point, I felt a bit enraged by this treatment, a conversation that could have easily been diffused with a light hearted joke and perhaps an apology, yet the manager felt the need to exert his power in this situationthe solution to this poor style of management was to call me rude and that he would not tolerate dis-respectexcuse me but slight projection of your own conduct here. If me suggesting to you that you should consider the line of work you are doing if this is the way you speak to customers, having paid a premium price for your underwhelming offering, then yescall me rude!

Disgusted with the service and shocking treatment, we decided to leave our group of 8 friends whom we were celebrating withand while saying goodbye was met by an entourage of bouncers and waiters to escort me outhow ridiculous!

Lloy Rubio, sir, you are obnoxiously rude!

    Shame on you! #Elsur #WestinDubai #TimeOutDubai

I love the place. The tapas are great and you can use entertainer. Emirates crew also gets 50 percent off. But I think it's time they changed the menu a bit or improvised

Delicious food as close to authentic as you could get outside of Spain. Outdoor table with nice view of Atlantis.

One of my favorite Spanish food restaurants in Dubai. The food quality is amazing, the ambiance is great. I recommend to have a G&T at the bar before you sit down for dinner.

This is my favorite dinner restaurant in Dubai. The food is amazing, and very well presented. There's a lot of talent and creativity in the kitchen, but not so much that you don't recognize the dishes, I've tried the entire menu several times, their octopus, their berenjena and their "airbags" are always great.
The service is good too, with knowledgeable staff, friendly and attentive but never over crowding you.
The value for money is great too.

Probably the worst Brunch for value in the entire UAE for a restaurant that displays nearly a five star rating, it makes one wonder who provided this rating and whats it based on. Marketed as a high grade Spanish restaurant, why is the only house wine served is South African and the cheapest you can buy that comes by the box!! Asked to look at the label, we were presented a 1Ltr box of wine that retails for around AED60 any wine ordered than this is additional to the brunch cost.

Look at the menu posted online in their web site shows wonderfully displayed dishes yet none of these are served in brunch and the waiters are constantly pushing bland and potatoe dishes despite repeated requests for seafood and meet. The biggest surprise is the lamb, the picture in their menu shows a lamb shank but what you get is three slivers of lamb, its actually laughable that a restaurant gets away with charging these prices for the dishes that are served.

If you really want value combined with good food and service, simply stay away from El Sur, its appalling and gives brunch a bad name fo those who enjoy their quality of food and service and dont mind paying for it!!!

Great Tapas Brunch, with a wide range of beverages. A taste of Spain in Dubai. Beautiful terrace to enjoy when the weather is nice.

    The tapas brunch is great!
If you are feeling a bit nostalgic about the flavors from home. this is for sure a place you want to visit.
It is a bit expensive for coming on a regular basis, so I recommend to check what the offers are on one of the BOGO apps available in Dubai
