It’s the best airport 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I used the driverless Dubai Metro before umteen times between 1-2 zones, but never from the airport until yest. Because I arrived around midday, I opted to not take my car and instead take the metro to work and then have someone bring me home from work.
The line to the passport checkin was short luckily and had no baggage to claim, so my whole trip ran smoothly. It’s rare that one gets things run smoothly in the same day, and mine was just that. What made my day run almost perfectly was my flawless experience with the metro.
The signage after finishing the formailties at the airport was very clear, but one gets distracted by the duty free shop that easily misses the exit sign. I didn’t expect to go upstairs twice, but there you have someone to direct you, “go upstairs” !!! Wow, it’s all connected and air-conditioned, to the grand entrance to the station.
A lady at the booth smiles and converses readily with you, taking away your pain from flying, walking, and labyrinthing your way through. Many choices of cards you have, including one way valid for 3 month, non-extendable, but re-loadable within that period.
Ample voice-written announcements about the next metro coming help you relax. Clean, empty, cool and with a map, the metro car was a welcome part of the trip. There is also room for one’s bags next to the edge seat, all well-thought of through. As if the designer had in mind the needs of every user of the metro. World-class? Indeed it is. And on top of that, you arrive at your destination station, an air-conditioned taxi is awaiting you and others, no time wasted. I made it to work 20 min early to my first client appointment, enough time to change my outfit from casual to white-collar.
What a day. A wonderful and impeccable one indeed.
This station serves Dubai International Airport’s main terminal, which is used by all the major airlines. Located on Airport Road, runs directly southeast from Dubai city centre on the east side of The Creek.

No one told me that I can come to Dubai youth hostel by Metro, everybody directed me to taxi Free wifi is bad.
Awesome place to may my first stop in my travels home. Much cleaner than terminal two and far more welcoming. Terminal one and terminal three are the places to be.
