Nice airport with all friendly atmosphere and cooperative staff all around. Very much to shop in duty free area with lots of discounts. Toilets are clean. Prayers room are well managed and clean. Food quality is best 8n all restaurants. Very much assistant available and friendly place for physically handicapped people.Have transited via this airport a couple of times and it’s very easy to navigate through the terminals as the signs are very well placed. A lot of shops / outlets within the airport so one can spend a bit of time shopping / eating at these places. The premium lounge is fantastic as well.
One of the best airports to transit through is the Middle East.Have never experienced an issue here. Huge amount of security scanners so the process is nice and quick. Shops are very nice. nice and clean bathrooms. Would recommend. Emigration process is very easy now.Abu Dhabi Airport is One of the best & safest & secured airports in the world. Attracting duty-free stores and also food. high-quality services fast E-gates access in & out, I appreciate the people who work there.

It's a decent airport for being an international airport.
Well constructed and layed out.
Just one thing I missed was charging stations do not have options which are universal and not many food choices. Therefore three stars, restrooms etc all good and clean so good maintained.
The staff were very cordial and pleasant.

The first foreign [other than in Nepal] airports I visited on my own, that too in the urban heart of Middle East. There is no surprise that we were lost, the building itself is so big. No problem for food, because you will get a bit touch of flavors from all over the world. The waiting lounge and other refreshment areas are cool enough; or we can roam around to kill time in the layover. Next time I might plan for a city trip when I will visit here.

Abu Dhabi is a fantastic airport, there’s nothing less than what you’d expect from the middle-east. Decadent architecture housing a wide range of outlets and restaurants.

I enjoy Abu Dhabi airport though because it’s so easy to transit through. I’ve stopped here several times on my way to Australia from the UK and it’s always been a great layover. It’s clean, simple but not boring, and is a great place to see lots of planes (if you’re into that sort of thing).

Ranks just behind Singapore Changi in my estimations 👍🏻

Beautiful airport. Though queues on the immigration and custom lines are just too long. Good shopping at duty free. Business class waiting lounge is superb with a kids room that’s very engaging for kids.

Had a stopover at this airport, to take a connecting flight to Pakistan. Has some amazing facilities available and an amazing selection of high end designer boutiques. The connecting flight terminals are well laid out and easy to navigate around with a large variety of shops and restaurants. Plenty of things to do during long stopovers.

Check-in and bag drop are very slow. Each time I have had to wait 40 minutes to drop off my bag. However, you can register with the egate and this makes everything else very fast. The baggage handlers are fantastic and I always pick up my bags very quickly on arrival. The airport has been very crowded on my last 2 visits. While everything (except Check-in) works well, it might be time to upgrade/expand the airport.

Terminal 3 is modern, but should have more toilets. Additional security check for transit passengers takes a long time if more planes arrive at the same time. Could be organized in a better way. Foods and beverage are expensive.

Well organized transit airport.👌 Tends to get a bit busy during rush hours. Staff is polite and professional. Duty free has a good collection of perfumes and alcohol. Lots of shops for all kinds of travellers. Decent food court with multi cuisine options. Transit was hassle free and quick. Well marked entry and exit points help in easy navigation through the terminal. Security check takes some time so get in line as soon as possible. Overall a good experience.✌👍

Liked the place very much. I had a flight with almost 16:00 hours of layoff time. I found a lot of restaurants other than airport lounges. A variety of options for purchasing wine and chocolates too in the duty free stores.

Security check even for connection flights, decent duty free shops area but poor restaurant choices which are on a small upper floor. Passenger flow thru main area in the shops area rather chaotic. Friendly and attentive staff. I’m looking forward to the new airport - there so much room for improvement!

The main reason for me to give 5 stars is the US immigration that this airport offers. With this service you can save time and walk out in US directly. Cleanliness is good and service is great.

Worst transit airport I've ever been to. The requirement to go through baggage check even for transit flights caused absolute chaos here when more than 2 flights offloaded at the same time. Then, you have to go through ANOTHER bag check at the gate which would be almost comical if it weren't for the fact that it caused such unnecessary delays on our flight. Sort it out Abu Dhabi, I've experienced more efficient airports in third world countries!

Well organized and managed airport. Big variety of products on the duty free shop. Big brands like rolex, tag heuer, Tudor, boss and other more. Food court with a variety of food options. Comfortable public chairs to rest during transit. CNN traveller coffee shop gas good coffee.

Worst transit ever, even all US transits I ever had were much faster. On both flights they had us waiting for more than 1,5 hours just for a connecting flight. People stand on the escalators, stairs trying to sneak into a small door from 2 sides.
This airport is a transit nightmare and the 100-150€ more for a Lufthansa or Thai direct flight will be invested next time

Took a connecting flight from Abu Dhabi. Transiting between flights was easy and didn't take long at all. The airport is easy to navigate and staff are friendly. Didn't have any trouble with my drone in cabin luggage.There are way too few toilets for the massive number of travellers, the queue at the men's restroom is long,the queue at the ladies' restroom is like waiting for the pope to bless you.

A HUGE place. They have everything here. Spas, lounges, Starbucks, fast food, fine dining, and destinations to most any place in the planet. It's amazing. They also have a few fantastic areas for kids to play. My favorite major airport.

Clean and very well organized, easy to find your way around. When I asked the staff for some help they were nice and friendly. Security check lines move quite fast and I quickly made it through the airport to my next flight's gate. Sometimes it's a bit crowded but still allright.

Clean and well organized airport!
The distances are well comparable to the USA and if you are not used to walk, please make sure to take time with you to move from A to B.
Enough places to sleep and rest but this airport is rather a Transfer airport for everyone flying to Asia / Africa or back to Europe- USA.

They accept US Dollars as well. Euros they can accept but change in their own currency.

Clean, modern airport but has its flaws. Limited washrooms and power sockets make this a less desirable airport. I had to walk very far and down some stairs just to get to a washroom and water fountain (which didn't even work). Duty free is not bad as there is multiple duty free shops, some big and some small. Overall it's a very cool airport.

I've transit by Abu Dhabi many times. One of the busiest airport in the world with Dubai airport too. A bit too small actually, it's usually crowded, hopefully they build a new terminal.
Smoking lounge are to small and ventilation isn't powerful enough to keep the room clean of smoke at pick hours.

Food and beverages are crazy expensive, expect to pay more than US$ 13 for a pint of draft beer, US$ 6 for a pizza slice.

In a positive note, security check is efficient and fast, and the airport is clean and easy to find your way around.

Have been several times here for transit. It's a large and well managed airport that links the North America and Europe with destinations in Asia and the middle East that are hard to get to on direct routes.

Additional security checking for transfer passengers sometimes makes delay to on-board the flight (you might even miss a flight if the stopover time is one hour or less than an hour and you are travelling from South/east Asia to Europe/US)

The full US immigration facility and customs clearance is the best part if you are traveling US via this airport. Also there are lots of duty free shops.

The airport is well designed, easy to check in your luggage and get to the gate. At arrivals I was impressed how quickly the luggage arrived and at immigration I was treated with respect and welcomed. Very good experience overall.

Lots of review is available here. So, Let me be specific. It's one of the busiest airports in the world, hence very crowded. If you want to sit apart from crow, not possible in general lounge. Look out for reading area! You will have comfortable chairs and reading material there (also a nice partial view). But don't ear or drink in this area.

It is a very excellent transit stop. A very large airport. Many duty free shops for you to do window shopping. A very nice atmosphere. The airport even getting larger by the construction of a whole new terminal.
