Great central location. Quality facilities and restaurant/bar.
Excellent and cheaper than most hotels around
What an amazing place!! We spent 3 nights here and absolutely loved it. The lodge was beautifully decorated with really comfortable beds and the best shower! It is set in beautiful surroundings and I love that you can hear the Falls from your bed. I can't say enough great things about the staff, they were all so helpful, friendly and accommodating from start to finish. Phil went above and beyond to make our last day comfortable since we were leaving on the night bus. Highly recommended this place!
The best relaxing environment with beautiful gardens, a good signature cappuccino will beautify your day!!!
So awesome to have a low budget level hotel have so much to offer. Camping, lodging, tented accommodation that I would happily choose. Great staff and Shearwater itself offers so much as an operator with first class hosts and drivers.
Excellent service. Nice surrounds. Girls in bikinis. What's not to like.
Recently had lunch with my friends there and trust me when I say everything was point, the food, the service and the prizes was amazed. Cheapest in town. Will certainly go back there no doubt. Friendly staff, big thank you to Chef Simo and our comic waiter Simba. You guys Rock..........
Very nice campsite with a cool bar. We totally enjoyed the stay
No mentioned of the town on their entrance made it seem like anywhere. Comfortable fixed tents. Chalets available as upgrade. Wifi access. Lovely holidayey relaxed bar pool outside lounge. Very friendly helpful staff. Walking distance to the mighty Vic Falls and town
Great food, great staff and good vibe. Appreciated the swimming pool during my stay as it was hot.
Also a walking distance to the Falls and town.
Great place! I stayed here four days and chose the super cheap tent option for 49R per night. Otherwise the cottages are really nice too. They have A/C and safes for valuables and fancy stuff like that. Apparently that's a gamble with the tents though because the mosquitoes devoured some of the other campers at night. I never had a problem with the mosquitoes but they are definitely around. The tents are really nice though. They each have two cots with nicely clean white sheets and a thin mattress. There is a night stand and there is WiFi in the tents. You also have a public restroom and shower stalls very close by as well as a community kitchen arrangement and power/charging station. It is well set up. Then there is the main reception area which is super cool. There are plenty of wicker chairs and couches and beans bags to plop down in to relax and just enjoy the fact that you are finally chillin in Africa. There is a complimentary cold juice dispenser by the reception counter that shows up around ten thirty and it's so refreshing especially on the really hot days. It got up to 101F in the day and 90F at night so be prepared for that I guess. The water is potable here. There is a restaurant and bar with great food, I had a crocodile kabab and burger for 12usd. There is a nice swimming pool just below the main veranda and a great performance is put on around 8:00pm here by some amazing traditional singers and dancers. Don't miss out on that, they are an amazing group of guys. And their leader Vitalis is awesome. Anyways, yes Shearwater Explorers village is a great place. Just outside the entrance is an artists market where you can buy lots of traditional carved animals and souvenirs. Make sure you haggle the prices though. They accept Rands and US dollars and Zimbabwe dollars too. They will also barter with you whatever you have....extra shirts, shoes absolutely anything. I hope you enjoy your stay here like I did mine:) great place.
What an awesome lodge! We stayed 2 nights with our group and it was perfect. Very nice staff, great set up, good food! Vic Falls really needed a place like this! Thank you from iZA tours
Well maintained & clean tents, probably the most secure, accessible area in Victoria Falls. Staffs can sometimes be ignorant though; was given a tent not covered in shade although there were plenty of empty tents. Temperature reaches about the boiling point from 7am. Bring your own towel and a padlock. Good value for Zimbabwean standards.
Great hotel and staff. A little pricy
Newly built facilities. Very clean, organized and pretty. The bathroom-facilities for camping are the best I have ever seen.
I recommend Explorers Village for sleeping, but suggest you reach out to locally owned tour operators and restaurants for activities and food as shearwaters is owned by a big corporation and is sometimes pricey.
Excellent place to stay and start your activities from. Housing is good and so is the service. If you're looking to save a few dollars on activities, it is advised to ask different places. Many lodges are willing to give up to a 20 $ discount
