Description

RHO Appleseed was founded in 2011 by Joy and Ken Hoffman. Beginning as a community school, Appleseed has moved to a Community Center model offering numerous programs and opportunities to members of all ages. The center houses Rachel's Pre-school and Grade 1, while at the same time being open to children members for reading and math help, library services, computer use, games and extra curricular activities such as soccer, dance, and field trips.

Lunch is served to all children members on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and on Monday Wednesday and Friday to those children receiving tuitions classes through sponsorship. It is our desire to feed all member, Monday-Friday, and are always seeking help with the food program.

The center closes to children at 16:00, Monday-Friday, and remains open to adult members from 16:00-20:00

Saturday night events such as movie nights, performance nights, and dance nights are planned for 2 times per month.

Lifetime membership is 10 Kwacha ($1.00) RHO Appleseed Community Center currently has 20 students in Rachel's Pre School, and approximately 150 members.

While the goal is for the center to be self sufficient, donations are relied upon for many services, most importantly, the lunch program. Please see the website if you would like to donate.
