Staff were genuinely passionate about their job and knew what they were talking about. It seemed quite expensive. We thought it was justified because the money goes into the conservation of sharks. However at the end, we were asked for a donation to fund the conservation project. Not too sure where all our money was going to🤔
I had the best time shark cave diving with White Shark Diving Company as a day trip from Cape Town. The bus ride was long, but well worth it. After a safety chat, we were on the boat. We saw multiple sharks- one actually jumped on the cage! It was incredible. I would highly recommend doing this unique activity.
My 1st visit to South Africa in March 2017 was the most incredible trip of my life we had a Day cage diving with this company, all the staff were totally amazing and the trip was incredible we seen sharks from both on the boat and in the cage if I was to do this again I’d would 100% come back here if you don’t see sharks it’s hardly the companies fault, they’re not boating out into a small tank it’s r ocean 🦈😂
Sad to tell but it was my worst experience ever. We drove from Cape town for two and half hours, put wet wetsuits on the crazy wind, went down to cage, sat there for one and half hour in the freezing cold water (12°C) and seen nothing. Dirty water, fish pieces and seagulls. Another eight people who was waiting on the boat at least seen sharks from there and been in water only 5 minutes. But I've seen only shark from boat for 10 seconds before start, more like shadow and nothing else. They must reduce price if they doesn't guarantee any sharks and cannot even tell you that it's no vision under water. It was total pointless to tell us to stay in cage for so long time. Stupidest what you can do with your money. And main they doesn't care about it because you gave for them money and they will keep it with show for you or without. Maybe any other companies doing something better but definitely not this one.
The morning started with a exhilarating drive alongside excited adventure seekers and nature lovers from Cape Town to California. All on the way to see the White Sharks if we are blessed enough. On arrival the hospitable staff gave easy instructions on the program ahead and served us with a delicious breakfast 🍳. With enough time scheduled to finish our meal we are directed to the briefing area to enable us a safe experience 🐠. Energy is high as we are filmed approaching the boat to take us on the road to adventure. Everyone handles the group of clients professionally leaving you feeling informed and at home as we skid over the chilly ocean. At the selected site chumming started and the first 8 get the chance to enter the cage after further briefing and fitting of wetsuits. Nervously Hanging in the water 💦 as part of them we await the GREAT White. Several appearances let the chill in hands and feet disappear and focus only on the possibility of another site. Giving the second batch of 8 a chance we still get a good view from the upper deck while sucking on a lolly. 🍭 With a sense of achievement and content we set direction for the office to enjoy a hot lunch while watching the video of the day for sale. We are educated on the type of sharks and other fish we saw and then head out again with the shuttle. Be sure to check out this experience at least once in your lifetime.
I did not like this place at all. The office staff was rude and it felt like we were just shuttled in like cattle and they didn't care one bit. I have been diving in a lot of places and I know what a good dive operator looks like. These guys are far from it. One thing you will never see happen is having the boat crew smoke while clients are on the boat with you out on the water. I don't care if it's Africa or not, it's just not professional in any way shape or form. On our trip, the swells were massive and several people on the bottom deck were not feeling well. The last thing anyone needs is someone smoking and having that blow in your face. The entire crew smoked, most having multiple cigarettes.
It was also obvious that they had no intention of actually looking for sharks and that they were just going through the motions. We were never once briefed on wetsuits, the cage, or anything of that nature. You'd think that would be important information to know even if they knew the shark action was slow. At least go through the motions, hell that's what we paid money for! The chumming they did was silly. They put out a tuna head that was old, probably from the previous dive trips and the tiny amount of chum beyond that was just small chunks that were quickly eaten by seagulls. After charging $120 US dollars per person and cramming 24 tourists on the boat, you can't afford several buckets of cut up fish and blood to act like you care about your customers?
I stayed up on the top deck the entire trip because they had too many people for their small boat. I know wildlife is highly unpredictable, stuff just doesn't cooperate. This review has nothing to do with that and is all about the company itself. I don't care that we didn't see sharks, it was the rest of the experience that was horrible. Spend your money elsewhere if at all possible.
Our shark cage diving trip was absolutely wonderful. They were very accommodating when we got stuck in traffic and arrived extremely later than expected. Although we only saw one shark because of the killer whales, our guide made our journey so much fun. The crew was entertaining and helpful when the shark did come around. After, the lunch they provided was delicious and warm. Overall a great experience.
The greatest experience I've ever had. The great white sharks are such special creatures. The company and crew are very professional and know their stuff.
Shark drive good and price reasonable, but keep in mind that shark spotting is not guaranteed and we were almost about to leave with the boat when they finally showed up
I paid £215 or 3500 ZAR for my boyfriend and I to spend 2 hours on the boat.
No sharks were in the bay because Killer Wales had been there they day before - so not only did the company know the chances of seeing sharks were near to none, but they also failed to tell us this before taking our payments and then did not offer a refund. I understand the sighting of sharks is not guaranteed, but to neglect to tell the customers what the circumstances were (especially when they state a high probability of sighting on their website) is disgraceful behaviour. I feel like it is daylight robbery!
What the company should do it is offer at least a partial refund, allowing their costs to be covered, and customers not feel completely abused.
Fantastic experience!! I was picked up at my apartment in Cape Town and driven to the location about 2 hours away. When I arrived a hot breakfast was provided including eggs, coffee, toast, yogurt, muffins, etc. Much more substantial than I expected. The crew on the boat was absolutely wonderful. Very lively and fun. It took quite a while for the sharks to finally show up so there was some food to nosh on while we waited. Seeing the sharks was awesome although I thought the view was much cooler from the boat than in the cage. Upon returning a yummy lunch was served. I accidentally left some belongings in the office and they were returned to me all the way in Cape Town the next day. Overall I was recommend this company 120%! Great people, great experience.
