Very busy and a bit scary but you manage to get the authentic Durban feel of diversity from Zulu culture to Indian African culture and the most diverse place to shop for cheap clothing right through to materials and doctors

The area surrounding the market is not very safe so use caution when traveling here. Windows wound up. There are a few parking bays outside the market but undercover parking is provided across the road. There are a few security guards in the parking area. There are one or two shops that accept paying with cards however most shops accept cash only. There is a slight odour from the sea food which is natural. so expect this. However the seafood is fresh and delicious when prepared. The people working there are vibrant and loudly compete for customers. The atmosphere is alive.

Disappointed. Very few shops compared to the old market which burnt down years ago. Still it is clean, has paid toilets and safe parking underground. Parking entrances difficult to find as it is not sign posted.Had a good curry spice made up at Moodleys

This is a lovely market that is less noisy than the market across the street. It is clean and offers an ATM in the tobacco shop, many beaded accessories, African paintings, African style garments, lovely Indian spices and other bits and bobs.
