Extremely slow, but social distancing was maintained through out the station. Went to renew my drivers license it took about 6 hours. I recommend wither getting there before 6:00 am or booking an appointment 2 months in advance

It takes a while to get an appointment.

But when you do, the process is easy to renew the driver's license.

My appointment was 13:10 I arrived 12:30 to fill out the form. There was one person before me but I ended up going in earlier than the appointed time and paid by 13:10

Such a difference from 5 years ago!!!

What a pleasant experience to renew my license!
I booked online and the appointment happened close to the time. I had the wrong physical documents and they went above and beyond to print the correct documents for me. Exceptional service

Have tried to call for over two weeks for basic information and was notified you can actually BOOK an appointment. Well, you can't, it is so hard to get hold of them and they never respond to emails.

Extremely satisfied with unmatched service provided by the personnel of this venue.
We were called according to scheduled time allotted to me and others in the shaded seating area where social distancing and all protocols were in place. I strongly recommend this testing centre to all especially pensioners. Well done all staff members for taking such good care of us. Booking is the best way to go.

I did an appointment over the phone for myself and my wife to renew our drivers licenses. We went a little bit earlier and they did see to us. We were done within 15min since we arrived. Staff is friendly and very helpfull. I Highly recommend going there with making an appointment first. No long queues and sitting and waiting the whole day.

It was a quick job. Make sure you have id, copy of id, proof of address and a black pen. The staff are not helpful so just ask people in the queue. Better than the joburg licence offices by far. Staff all look so unhappy to be there you feel bad for them though.

Its so great that they have an appointment system now which improves efficiency. Its a pity that they don't accept forms printed online because they have a 'colour' filing system. Note to management- printing forms online and having visitors ready for quick interaction at your site would make for safer interactions.

I was so very impressed. I made an appointment and arrived early. I was taken through early after just a 5 min wait. There were two air conditioned offices and my drivers licence renewal was processed within 10 min, I then we down to a cashier and paid without delay. I was in and out within 20min.
Only congestion was the public parking just outside the gate.
I highly recommend the Verulam testing centre.

Went there to renew my driver's license. Had an appointment for 13.30. Was attended to promptly.
The appointment system is working well. Good to know that someone out there is using his/her intellect.

I visited the Verulam Testing Station to renew my driver's licence. I arrived at the venue at 6 o' clock, an hour before it opened. There were already approximately 60 people in the queue before me. There was no social distancing outside the gates of the station. Questionnaires iro the pandemic were given to everyone while we were in the line.
Once the main gate was reached, the questionnaires were collected and our hands were sanitized. 2 personnel from Metro Police ensured effective social distancing. An official then checked whether we had the necessary documents (ID, a photocopy of the ID, driver's licence and proof of address). I stood in the line for almost 3 and a half hours. There were chairs in a sheltered areasat here for another half hour before being send to another waiting area where there were benches. Finally, I was let into a room by Mr Thambiran who processed my documents. He was extremely efficient and professional. Fortunately, I went for an eye test prior to my visit. My finger prints and photograph was taken. Thereafter, I went to the cashier. After speaking to three people, I realized how lucky I was to have the entire process completed in 5 hours!!!
Two people had visited the place 3 times and one had visited it 4 times unsuccessfully to have their licences renewed. After standing for hours in the queue, they were told that the "computers were offline."
By the way, if you try to call the Verulam Testing Station, you will not get through. An incorrect phone number is listed.

Got here early this morning. Its now 11a.m still waiting in the que. Only 2 cashiers who are very slow. Th que is very long and moving extremely slow. If you come on the weekend make sure you get here by 6am. Bring certified ID documents and proof of address. Make sure the proof of address is in your name or you will need an affidavit. Be prepared to wait for 4 to 5 hours. Bring yoir own alcohol wipes for the eye testing machine as the lady who assited me didnt not have one. I was shocked that we had to sanatise the equipment ourselfs. A pain staking process. I am glad to only happens every 5 years.

Efficiently run. Waiting area is comfortable. Really not necessary to be "fast tracked" by unofficial agents in the parking lot. The forms should be more easily accessible otherwise pleasant experience. In and out within an hour.

Verulam Testing station is more or less an average testing station, but slightly marginally a little better. The lines can still be long and you can be standing in the wrong line for a while. Always make sure that you are standing in the correct line for what you went there for. Sometimes the signage is missing, or it could be correct and is visible - but there have been times when they do their own thing and use different counters. I was told that they take a certain number of applicants for testing daily - I'm not too sure about that.

The queues are long. Be prepared to wait. You have to be patient. Took us 5 hours to complete the process. Poorly organised. Everyone is is put into one queue renewal, pdc ,learners license etc.
Only one attendant sees to the renewal is drivers license. No priority treatment for senior citizens. We were told to follow the queue although we are 73 years old.
Please ensure you have the following documents:
    1.Identity book
    2.Photo copy of identity
    3.Proof of residence
    4.Current drivers licence
    5. Married woman also required to produce a separate proof of residence by way of an affidavit. Spouses don't count.
    6.Presently it costs R250.
    Good luck!!!

If going over the weekend (especially on the Sunday), please get there before 7a.m and ensure all necessary documentation is in order. Renewed my driver's licence today and took about four hours to get done. To the staff's credit, they were processing as fast as possible.

Ques are too long here. People get turned away often. They control the handing out of forms so you can get sent home even if you are there early. It is worth noting they open only on the 1st and 3rd weekend of the month. Like this post so more people see this. My guess is Sundays will be the best days to go at the time of me writing this.

Pathetic Service! Got there at 5:30. Was number 20 in the queue. The Licencing representatives lets us know at 7:20 that the finger print machine and eye test machine is not working. They cannot tell us when it will be resolved nor can they give us a contact number for us to follow up. Where is the service delivery???

4:30 am on the line 06:00 am “sorry our systems are offline since yesterday, it’s all up to u if wait or go home”. 07:15 “system still down even at other centres e.g Pinetown, and Stanger we can’t get hold of it” 08:50 “we think you should go home people, there’s nothing we can do for u”!!!

That’s the days of our lives at Verulam, forget the fact that some of us are parents to young children & we have no one to look after them when we have to wake up at 3am and make a plan on where to live them. But that ain’t good enough, it seems like we’ll spend the rest of the week going to the testing grounds & it’s a pity we woke up early & we meet their 200 requirement but now their system is not up to par.

It’s so FUSTRATING we keep on spending MONEY that we don’t even have to begin with!!!

I ALSO WENT THERE EARLY AND WAS SENT AWAY I HAVE TO TAKE TIME OFF FROM WORK. THEY START WORK AT 8.00AM AND FINISH AT 2.00PM "VERY PRIVILEGED". BUT NOT PREPARED TO HELP THE PEOPLE THAT ARE THERE WITHIN THEIR WORKING TIMES . VERY BAD SERVICE. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO GO THERE. (VERULAM TESTING GROUND FOR RENEWAL OF DRIVERS LICENCE VERY POOR SYSTEM OF WORKING) THEY SHOULD NOT GIVE TICKETS, THIS SYSTEM IS VERY POOR. THEY HAVE A JOB THEY SHOULD JUST DO IT. AS LONG AS THE PEOPLE ARE THERE, EVEN AT 1:59PM THEY SHOULD ATTEND TO THEM .

Don't waste your time for coming here.. only you'll get is disappointment when they say go back home you're late at 8:00 in the morning. They want us to wake up and go there without bathing and wait for them and then once they have counted people who came before 7:00 those who came after they must go back . They must increase the number of Employees and help people who will pay.

I went for my license test today at 8am and I was prepared, did everything according to the instructor and book, the Examiner was not paying attention to me and her head was turned the other way whilst talking to another female, I did not roll, switch of or touch any poles,I kept doing my observations like I should and when I did the alley docking I was told I'm not in but I was in and pass the white poles,I totally feel I was marked unfairly as the Examiner said I did too many counter steering and did not do observation ,If they do have cameras on the grounds it would be appreciated if they took a close look at it and zoomed in.I feel I was failed unfairly
