Once known as the "Bush College" this university has certainly changed both its appearance and its outlook. Home of politically conscious students during the days of Apartheid, the university has delivered outspoken academics.
Offering several degree and other courses, the University has become one of the leading institutions in the country.
Past of the campus is also a nature reserve and the university has tried to keep that green approach making for a very peaceful atmosphere.
I am an Education student, and I thoroughly enjoy UWC's approach to the course. The lecturers are so friendly and understanding. The library is a great place for learning, and studying. UWC has its own culture of diversity and I LOVE IT, I would not change my institution.
The vegetation on campus creates a peaceful and natural atmosphere 😌🌳 it is also a good place to take nature pictures
Home of the UWC bushies. Beautiful campus with top class sports facilities as well as academic resources and education. The university residencies are all situated on campus, there are a a few additional residencies that have been acquired off campus. There's a railway station close to campus and taxis around campus for transportation of students as well as the university shuttle service.
I had a chance to visit The University of The Western Cape's Bellville campus a couple of times, while studying at The University of Cape Town. A very neat campus!
Great learning institution. The accounting faculty is one of the best! I'm a UWC alumni. The University has two entrances one on Robert Sobukwe road and the other across CPUT. Admin is very slow though which is the case everywhere in this country.
I am a PGC alumnus of UWC SPOH, it is a wonderful and one of the best Universities to be; I have motivated quite a number of Kenyans to take courses at UWC. Regards
Absolutely world class institution with the best intensive research mainly in the field of Physics, Astronomy, Computer Science,Genetics & Molecular Biology. Ranked 5th in Times Higher Education in SA and 102nd in Brics & Emerging Economies. Great diversity around campus with a nicer environment. #iamuwc
Amazing university with great facilities and a proud heritage. Regularly outperforms most others in the country.
This university is really amazing. The environment is really laid-back and the students and staff are very friendly. The lecturers also go the extra mile to assist and help the students academically. I am a proud UWC Alumni
It's great and people around there are friendly.
The University itself is extremely diverse and filled with friendly faces. The infrastructure is standard but the University itself has a great history. The WiFi of the University is not of the best quality but with the amount of people that is connected one can expect it to be slow.
The University's Wi-Fi coverage could be better. Students are friendly but sometimes you find some racial segregation and janitors using foul languages.
Very unprofessional! Issues student results very late, just before Christmas and still denies them access because of "technical problems"
Diversity! One of the most diverse universities in the whole of Africa. Most lecturers are young, cool and friendly. Its a good place to be "from hope to action through knowledge"
