Very secure environment. Professional people
Unilofts has gone downhill a lot in the last 2 years. The setup is compact but nice, with everything you need and a nice view. Management is absolutely useless to say the least. Noise is a serious problem in some areas of the building. The street downstairs becomes very crowded and noisy on weekends. You wait for a long time to get maintenance (if you are lucky enough to get it at all), deposits take a long time to get returned, break ins and thefts do occur in some flats. Smoke from surrounding flats does become annoying to non-smokers. Water pressure is very low on higher levels, often you don’t have water for a few hours. Parking is great and cleaning staff are very friendly. Very convenient in distance to campus and surrounding shops. Many people love Unilofts and not everyone has the experience I did, but I would highly recommend a thorough visit, knowing your room mate and meeting management before renting here. I have seen that people who buy do not have as many issues with management. For me the best part of the two years in unilofts, was moving out.
Nice student accommodation
D306 TURN DOWN YOUR F****** MUSIC!
It's a challenge for visitors to enter, but it's very safe and secure
Really loud, you need earplugs to sleep on weeknights. Cars stop in the street below and blast their music for all the flats to hear. The management could improve a great deal. The design of the flats are really nice and compact though.
Great place, but expensive
I'm a UNIfied student of the University of the Free State. Stayed at the LOFTS and I loved everything about it. The place is safe and secure. From Entrance to the your own bedroom. My apartment had a View - an awesome view from the G block looking straight at city center. I love the fact that you only bring your clothes, your blankets, your other non-space consuming items and your grocery.
For a visitor to get in, they'll need to bring a few things; Student Card or any other form of identification for one to sign in. And then the person who you're visiting must come downstairs to fetch you cause they can't let you in if the person you're visiting is not there. So, be advised to call your friend y'all agree on such. And come 12pm - your friend must have vacated the premises and that is if there was no sleeping arrangement made with your agency. There must be a letter for that from the agency stating how long your friend/family is coming for. There's maximum days of stay also. Two days at most or two weekends a month.
And according to your agent and/or rental agreement, you also get Cleaning Services twice a week, DStv on your already installed TV. You purchase electricity, Airtime and some Wi-Fi bundles with the security guards at the entrance. This my top favorable convenience with the LOFT. And that Ground Floor Vending Machine changed my life.
The rules really work to create a harmonious living space for dedicated students and I appreciate that.
It's a great place and the living arrangements is great for students
The security at Unilofts is very secure. The entrance is controlled. The security personal control the entrance, they will question you about your attentions. Those uniloft flat house international students.
I visited the flats in 2014 on one Saturday evening.
It show a me where I want to go
