This Nature Reserve is a must seen place! The dune bush and walking trails that cris cross them are a great experience and good exercise. It is also really hart warming to know that the little Red Duiker has a safe sanctuary here where they can thrive in peace and safety. Thanks to everybody involved!

The lagoon is wonderful, braai areas and seating are available for day visits, as well as campsites for longer stays. There is also access to the beach

The reserve is small but it has a good variety of attractions. There is the mangrove forest with its particular eco zone. The riverine forest along the lagoon and the dune forest all along the beach. Add to that a wide beach without end. Wonderful walks wherever you choose or fishing or swimming and body surfing. Where else can you get such a combination?

Decided to visit with my two kids on the way to St Lucia without having read any reviews or any research. What a fantastic spot! Relatively quiet when we were there and superb walk on the mangrove boardwalk. Saw a mudskipper for the first time. Very pretty estuary.

Relatively small nature reserve with not that much to do. Wild monkeys, snakes and zebras can be observed. There is a variety of beautiful hiking trails as well as a natural mangrove forest. Sadly many people who visit this beachside nature reserve have no regard for the rules and often blast music despite clear signage forbidding such activities. Security guards do not seem to care for this blatant disregard of the rules and even when called do nothing to rectify the situation.

The best place for nature in Durban. The restaurant have then best food ever and there is a nice big pool. Place is clean and need. Have fans in every room and dstv and TV in lounge with small kitchen. If you love nature then Umlalazi Nature Reserve is the place to be. #Umlalazi
